Measurements on Main Street

Post by Lasolimu » Sun Feb 15, 2009 12:24 pm

Alright, my Dad is building a miniature, to scale, Disneyland Main Street USA and has most of the measurements that he needs, but there is a few that he has not been able to get. He wants me to get them for him while in the park and I figure it is likely that someone here will know them or have an easier time getting them. He still needs the measurements for the horse drawn vehicle up and down the street. He needs things like the wheel width, width of the vehicle, height of the vehicle and gauge of the track it is on, so basically all the measurements he would need to build it to scale. Thanks for any information you can give on this because I imagine it is a lot easier to ask people who may know than to go and measure yourself.

Outstanding! What scale is he modeling in?
I figure it is likely that someone here will know them.... He still needs the measurements for the horse drawn vehicle up and down the street. He needs things like the wheel width, width of the vehicle, height of the vehicle and gauge of the track it is on....
Wheel width 2", gauge of track, 36". The last plus some photos should let you figure out the rest.

Let me know if you need some specifics and I can try to gather them for him.

Um, he does know that scale models of those cars are available, right?

Thank you, trust Zazu to have the information. He is a model railroader and builds modules for the large set up his club does here in Utah and he is building Main Street for this. He builds in HO scale. And in regard to the purchasable scale models, it wouldn't be the same for him if he didn't build it himself. He has done a few already, but I can't find the pictures or I would post them. I will also post the pictures of his progress on Main Street when/if I find them.

This sounds very cool. I hope you post some photos of it when he's done!
