It's said that no biopsy ever comes back "positive". They either come back "negative" or "please call to make an appointment".

Mine came back "please call to make an appointment". <sigh> More in two weeks.

Lucky for me I know how slowly prostate cancer progresses so I don't have to spend those weeks in panic mode.

Whoa, big feller! If they're making you wait two weeks just for an appointment then it can't be life threatening at this point. Lots of advances in the treatment of said problem over the last few years, too. So, even if surgery ends up as an option, odds are great you'll be good as new afterwards. And hopefully it won't come to that. Keep us posted.

We are hoping for the best news possible, Zazu, and I don't think they'd make you wait 2 weeks either for an appointment if the situation was not fairly stable.

Ktulu mentioned that M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is one of the best. According to the latest US News and World Report survey it is considered the best cancer institute in the country.

It has one branch outside of Houston, and that it at the Orlando Regional Medical Center south of downtown Orlando. If you have any choice for treatment, etc., that is the place to go. Note that they discuss cases with Houston at least weekly.

We had a friend who had to go to MD Anderson when she got cancer and tried holistic medicine first. She finally broke down, went to MD Anderson. The nurse who examined her said she had a worse form of cancer so she could get her in immediately. Once she was in they were like, oh, it's not that bad, treated her and she has been doing good ever since.

That place is awesome. Her doctor wanted her to put on weight (obviously), told her to eat dessert first. In fact, he wanted her to go ahead and pick two or more from the menu (no Disneymom, I won't find out who the doctor is for you :p :) :D: I got her a cheeseburger (burger king I think) which she was really thankful for.

That is the only hospital I have seen where they called it room service, and the guys (and gals) delivering the food are actually dressed up. Not just someone from the cafeteria delivering trays of luke warm "food". I was very impressed. It was sad walking the halls and seeing some of the patients, but knowing that they were at the best place in the country for care (either until they passed or they were healed) made it a little better. Not by much though. Bald kids with tubes hanging off of them really hit me like a punch in the gut.
