Trying not to be an SG

Post by Dimmsdale » Wed Feb 11, 2009 10:26 pm

Hi folks, I've lurked for awhile and decided to introduce myself as my trip gets closer. Never felt the need to visit WDW - was a Wonderful World of Disney TV addict though. Well we had our 1st trip this past Oct and now Mom's hooked. So for my 40 something birthday I get to leave NY in March and visit Disney ALL ALONE!

I give all you CMs so much credit for putting up with those idiot guests who put their courtesy, common sense and decency in the lockers at the gates. Hopefully I'm learning enough here to avoid being labeled an SG.

With that in mind I have a stupid Monorail question. I do know the monorail only goes to the MK and Epcot so I guess I'm one step ahead of some I know who think it goes to everything in WDW.

I'll be down in March at the Wilderness Lodge. I will take the WL launch to the Contemporary and want to get back to MK (for an early morning tour before park hours). Can I go to the TTC and get the monorail back to MK or must I take the whole loop from Contemporary/TTC/Poly/GF to MK?

I don't want to wander around the TTC asking really stupid questions! Or miss the start of the tour with a lame excuse about monorail schedules!

If this post doesn't belong here please move or delete as the host sees fit.

Thanks much.

Clare

From the Contemporary there are two ways to get to the MK. The first is to take the resort monorail but that takes a while as it first stops at the TTC and the other monorail resorts before making it back around to the MK.

You also have the option of walking to the park. Go out to the resort bus stop (to the right when you exit the front of the lobby) but keep walking. Follow the sidewalk (might have to walk through the parking lot itself some if the construction walls are still up) and soon enough you'll see signs for "Walkway to the Magic Kingdom" (or something like that). This is probably your best bet for getting to the MK on time for an early tour.

It wouldn't make sense to go to the TTC and then to the MK when you can go directly there. Also, early in the morning only one monorail line will be running, if any at all, and it will be the resort monorail. They don't start the express line until later on.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

I did the steam train tour on our last trip, stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. I took the first boat out to the Contemporary and did the walk to the MK. It wasn't bad at all. So I agree with the previous posters and just wanted this redundant post to be redundant.

Redundancy is good. RAID5 is better.

Two parity disks per volume is totally cool.

It's been a few years since I've stayed at the WL, but isn't there a launch directly to the MK? Or am I missing something?

Yes, but the first runs of the day are the ones from/to resorts. I don't remember when the resort boats start running.

I did a SGT on a visit to DLR once. I felt so bad. I bought the bucket of popcorn, and got in line for matterhorn, I did not finish it so I closed the lid and put it between my legs. I was in the front seat sharing it with my cousin. So I was in the very front. The bucket fell during the ride and popcorn spilled over the floor of the car. As the ride stopped, I tried scooping it up, I aplogoized to the CM, but before I could she started yelling, "You're not supposed to bring food on the ride". I said the container spilled I AM SO SORRY, he didn't care, he was some PO'd college kid. This was after I joined the SGT forum. There is my SGT.
Hey at least it wasn't soda! :p:

I'd have told him to be glad it wasn't some sort of bodily fluid or excrement :D:
