I'm Back!!!

Post by CMGUY89 » Mon Feb 02, 2009 10:07 pm

Hello all. It has been a while so I guess I need to catch everyone up.

I am no longer at Soarin'. The company found out about my condition an placed me on safety-sensitive restrictions and I was force-transfered out of attractions. I was actually placed on medical leave for about a month before they found a new role for me. UNPAID medical leave at that. It was by far one of the most humiliating and frustrating experiences of my life. I lost my trainer status and now I can't bear to go to my beloved Soarin'. I haven't ridden it in almost a month. It is just too painful.

I am now a room service cashier at Yacht & Beach and I really don't like it. All I do is sit in an office and answer telephones. I don't even see guests anymore. The money is better but I want to get out here soo bad. I have an interview for the opening team of Kidani Village and I hope that I can get to front desk over there. But my lack of seniority is working against me. I just can't seem to catch a break.

If you can't get on with Kidani Village, give a look to the Contemporary. We're presently understaffed, and will be adding another 295 rooms by fall.

The front desk crew is great, very positive. Plus you get me to chat with two shifts/week!

IM me and I'll put in a good word from this end.

I'll say a lot more later, but that really sucks that the Company did that.

If you don't get Kidani Village, have you thought about something like Merchandising or, like Zazu suggested, Front Desk/Guest Services at another WDW Resort Hotel? Something to get back into a Guest Contact position?

Having seen you and talked to you a bit during this whole fiasco, I gotta say, they're doing it all wrong.

You do what you need to to just make sure those around you are safe, a step that's not really necessary, and they punish you for it. Imagine if someone punished Disney for all the safety steps they take that aren't exactly necessary, but they're so that no one can ever come after them.

[/rant]

I'm not saying it's bad that Disney covers their butt, but I wish they could understand when you do the same.

I'm really sorry that happened to you. :(

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

Hang in there. I think you should go talk with Zazu, you might actually REALLY enjoy that position.

And a lot of times in life, you actually come out ahead when it seems you got a bad deal. You just have to take the opportunity that opens up!

Sorry to hear about that, CMGuy. :( Hope the Zazu Connection will get you to a better position soon.

My interview for Kidani Village went really well today. I am feeling really confident about the possibility about joining the opening team. I'll keep you guys updated!

I have a friend who I hope gets on with Kidani. You would love working with her.

Actually, Little Wallaby and I went out with her yesterday looking at condos, and I think we found the one we want. Right in hhsrat's neighborhood.

Be afraid, hhsrat. Be very afraid.
