how often does mansion go 101, it seems like all i have to do is walk through the doors at indy and the damn thing shuts down. it's happend at least three times a month since i've been signed off, so go figure, once every week or two for the past three months, we also have this problem where we break down every three seconds, one by one all the zones time out, i can recall a day when we had two or three auto e-stops, and as many as 10 auto-ride stops most of which all happened on my shift, i spent the entire time inside trouble shooting, i even went on break and came back without having to go out front and speil. it was a good day indeed.

Oh ya abc, the missing button(s) & the eternal broken zipper hassel's. They are certainly in my top 5 pet peeves. Have no idea how often I've called Custodial explaining my lateness due to zipper probs. :!: Don't like to do laundry either, but the lye used when washing costumes gags me. :!:

If a CM is caught out some place with costume on I was told CM could be termed. Hate poor show. Always have a change in my car or go home. Coming from a Custodian, there's a better way to get your Custodial problems handled.

My experience with our dispatch (at WDW MK, anyway) has been that, unless a manager calls in something, they don't relay it to us. I guarantee this is the cause of 9/10 cases of custodians not showing up when help is needed. Heck, they even do they same thing to US on the occasions when we have to call for extra help.

In short: get a manager to call it in; dispatch won't care enough to pass it on, otherwise.
If you can't tell, I hate our Custodial dispatch....they don't know where ANYTHING is in the freakin park.
The other 1/10 is a mix of laziness and dispatch telling us the wrong location
Dispatch: "Protein spill at the boat dock"
Me: "Which one"
Dispatch " The one in BDO"
Me: "I know that, but which boat dock??" (BDO has about 4 now, I think)
Dispatch: *silence*

Turns out there wasn't a protein spill on any boat dock, ther eas an ICE CREAM SPILL next to the turnstiles

To answer the question GMC, not that often. Mansion was made to run forever. We go down for things like broken U-joints, springs, or if we lose 30% of our buggies. If we loose Jack (or caretaker), any one of the singing busts(now pumpkins), Leota and I think possibly Oogie, its a 101. We were having snow issues the other day but nothing to go 101 over.

What is really wierd when we call custodial disbatch to take care of a code V, medical spill, or an over flowing trash can in the queue, it gets taken care of. I guess we cast members aren't good enough for our trashcan to be emptied when its full.

Post 200. Yay! I spend too much time on here.

They told us the same thing when cast zooming first started. When we filed an unfair labor practace charge against the company and a grievance that went to arbitration the mediator came back and said that the company cannot require anybody to change without providing change time. Since Disney is becomming so damn cheap they decided that they would allow us to wear the costumes off property to other locations. That is how all that bad show started with the cast zooming.

On a personal note I usually go home, but on occasion I've had to stop on my way home for stuff like gas and other small stuff like that.

You are allowed to wear your costume off stage if you are not wearing your nametag and nothing on it is "Disney" (such as a DL logo or pin). But this is only if you are doing things like errands (ie running into the grocery store after/before work), not for doing things like Zazu mentioned. Some people just don't understand that when wearing their costume they are still representing the company.

No, I won't name names. Not today, anyway.

i take my costume home, and i wear it when i go to Denny's after work, i do try and keep a change of clothes in the car, but the reality is that as long as we behave, or modify the costume enough, nobody should have any reason to gripe. however when you go to dinner with the entire indy closing crew, and everyone but you is in costume, and they're all outside smoking and cusing, in costume with nametags on, and you're the only one still onstage, its not the best thing ever. The way i see it, if you're untucked, and have no company ID showing, than you're out of costume, and dressed funny, really funny.

one of the things that's kind of annoying are the restrooms keys and how they tend to stick when you're trying to open the stock closet door. The Kotex machines! Dude i've had issues with those things. Cuz the nob thing on the inside will get stuck and not turn anymore, so then i have to figure out how to put the key in just right so it'll turn. Those things are tempermental.
I only had one restroom on my shift yesterday, Entrance West. Which made me a little nervouse cuz
1.) am i supposed to do the usual, saftey check the first time i sign in and full round the second time? or, because I only have one restroom ( and its the busy one) do I do full rounds everytime im in there?)
2.) What am i supposed to do with myself between these rounds?
3.) Will I get in trouble if I don't find something to do between rounds, cuz they'll think i'm stiffing.
and 4.) cuz i only have one restroom I know i can goof off which is cool, BUT Charlene was the manager that night and its known that she likes to check West every so often. So i'm torn between goofing off, and running the risk of getting caught in Char's wraith, or trying to find soemthing to do to keep me busy, when it was a slow day anyways.
I ended up doing utility which was great cuz it let me keep a close eye on my restroom and kept me busy, and i did the number of Cast restrooms checks like i'm supposed to. she didn't show up anyways, so that was nice. all-in-all that was a great day for me and a great learning experience. so yea...

You know, sometimes you just get that urge to jump into the trash compactor.
