Going to WDW tomorrow ! And I have 2 questions...
My wife, 5 1/2 year old daughter and myself are headed to WDW tomorrow, for 11 days! I hope to encounter a few of the CMs I have met here, especially the famous Zazu and Shorty82. I have a very good idea where to locate them, and will be contacting Wallaby when he returns from his holiday. Anyone else willing to be found, please provide me some hints! :) We are at the WL for 5 nights, then the Poly for 6 nights.
My First question is regarding wishes, and your favorite viewing area, one that is not over run with SG's ! And of course is accessible to guest without breaking any rules.
The second question regards Cinderellas Royal Table. We have a reservation for Tuesday am for breakfast. We would like to surprise my daughter with a written invitation from Cinderella to come to breakfast at the castle. Does Guest services do anything along this line ? It would be so much more magical than her knowing that Daddy just called the reservation line and paid the deposit 6 months ago.
Thanks for all your hard work CM's ! I look forward to meeting many more iof you ! If you notice a family of 4 with a tall, bouncy, singing blond 5 year old, and Nana in tow, that will be us.

What you could do is contact the Disney Florist. And get a small delivery to the room the day before, then you could include an invatation to breakfast.
They are famous for planning little suprises like that! Just be sure to note WHEN you want it delivered.

and this might be the best one:

It comes WITH an autograph book, and other princess stuff!!

You can do a lot of fun little things like that if you are willing to talk to people, the CMs (at least the good ones) like helping with things like this because it makes a trip more magical. Just remember to know what you want to do, ask around to find the people most able to help make it happen, and have anything you are providing ready to go before hand, that way even if you are unable to get help with it you can still have a backup plan where you do it yourself, like in this instance have your wife leave with daughter a little early because you need to finish getting ready and quickly set it up then.

That's easy, the roof of MO-8!delsdad wrote:My wife, 5 1/2 year old daughter and myself are headed to WDW tomorrow, for 11 days!....

That's less easy. And of course is accessible to guest without breaking any rules.
If Wishes is scheduled an hour or more before park closing, watch from Mickey's Toontown Fair. There's a great bench across from Mickey's house that makes it look like the fireworks are in his backyard! Nice play area nearby to burn off excess kid power, too. Ask a local CM where to look to see Tinker Bell fly.
Another good spot, if your family has the patience, is on the bridge from the Hub to Tomorrowland (Avenue of the Planets, if that means anything to you). You can see the main show, the castle fireworks, and the projections on the front of the castle from there, plus Tink flies directly overhead.
The focus of the show is on the bridge over the moat on the south side of the hub, just a bit north of Plaza. But this "sweet spot" is generally mobbed, and short people aren't going to be able to see.
Speak to the Lobby Concierge desk when you check in. They are the folks who can arrange such things. But give them ample time to work; magic doesn't happen instantly. The second question regards Cinderellas Royal Table. We have a reservation for Tuesday am for breakfast. Going to WDW with small children is allot of fun. BW,Shorty82 I know and I still have to meet Zazu. I know a few characters.
My favorites are:
Polynesian Resort: Capt. Cook's-try the vanilla dole whip. It is very yummy.
Magic Kingdom:
Mickey's Philharmagic
The many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Mickey's Country House
Minnie's Country House
Buzz Lightyear's Spacew Ranger Spin
Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor
Wishes-fireworks
Walt disney's Parade of Dreams
Spectro Magic
Epcot:
Spaceship Earth
The Seas with Nemo & Friends
Turtle talk with Crush
Living with the Land
Soarin'
O'Canada-it is nice
Illuminations-Reflections of Earth
Disney's Hollywood Studios:
Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage
Voyage of the little mermaid
Playhouse Disney-live on stage!
Toy Story Mania
Muppet Vision 3D
Block Party Bash
Disney's Animal Kingdom:
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Flights of Wonder
Festival of the Lion King
Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade
I have not made it out to the water parks, but I would go for the pools at the resorts. The Polynesian has a cool valcano water slide. You can see the electrical water pageant from the beach too. ;)

Even if Wishes is scheduled at park closing, you can still watch from Mickey's Toontown Fair. However, make sure you get all your playground time in before the show, because pretty much as soon as Wishes is over, the CMs start clearing the land, and although they won't say anything, you'll get some frustrated looks if you hit the playground after the fireworks.Zazu wrote: If Wishes is scheduled an hour or more before park closing, watch from Mickey's Toontown Fair. Watching Tink fly from Toontown is really not very do-able. Due to buildings and foliage, there really isn't much of a sight line to her flight path.

We watched from the bridge last year, but it was crowded, and I had to hold the little one on my shoulder for th eentire show so she could see. She loved seeing Tink fly over head !Zazu wrote:That's easy, the roof of MO-8!

The suggestion about Toontown sounds like a great idea, I will look for the bench.

Check out his site as it will give you some stuff to do like meet the princesses.
Check out http://www.disboards.com and click on planning. They have all the ride closures aka refurbs there. Lots of tips. Have fun and remember to read as much as possible so that you have 120 plans. If a ride is shut down for an hour then CLICK your brain pops out a new plan and off you go. A show near by or maybe go see a princess meet and greet. They also have there menus so you can find your beloved hot dogs or avoid certain allergens.
Good luck and remember it is you and your girl bonding time when she parks on your shoulders for a parade. Aside from the cattle prod hidden in the cane you cannot do much about people standing in front of short people.

Were you staying at Coronado by any chance? This whole story sounds so very familiar with something we had with a guest at my resort recently.delsdad wrote:My wife, 5 1/2 year old daughter and myself are headed to WDW tomorrow, for 11 days! No, we were at Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian. However, Decembers trip might well be at Coronado Springs.Hawkeye wrote:Were you staying at Coronado by any chance? This whole story sounds so very familiar with something we had with a guest at my resort recently.
