Official SGT ADD thread

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Thanks for the get well wishes, Bru. My goal for 09 is to spend more time with my grandchildren. But this weekend doesn't look good since I am sick. Daughter lives in San Diego (Two hour drive from here) and son lives near Nashville. I spent a week there during my Christmas vacation. They are coming out in February. I miss them so.

Oooo look at the pretty, humongo font! Thanks Matterhorn!!!

I hope you get your wish. Grandparent/child relationships are the stuff that make life worth living, IMO. I am grateful every day for the times I had with mine.

Yesterday I was going through some picture albums (while I can still see what's in them with a magnifying glass!) and I found one of my grandmother's ID cards from a WDW trip we took when I was ten. It says "Vacation Villas" on it. I had such a flood of wonderful memories. I have my Grandfather's ID card from the same trip, I'm going to frame them together.

Feel better and get all those grandkid hugs and kisses you can this year!!

hugs
Bru

Ms. Matterhorn is 103 today. Reduced capacity. I'm feeling better but stayed home from school one more day for good measure. Yay! More time on SGT. Thanks, everyone, for your good wishes.

SG Report

Calvin got the cheapest cabin on a Carnival Cruise line trip on the PAradise. You know me and cruises and trips. I stood their in shock as he did not know anything about the trip so when we got from the bank I showed him the Carnival site.

OMG they have hot tubs, massage, a gym, a jogging track. OMG was heard over and over then I showed hime a sample menu for one week and he was like OMG they have lobster bisque, broiled lobster tails, beef wellington. a 24 hour pizzeria, and desserts. The problem is that they charge like $2 for a soada pop and you can get for about $7 a day a card. In the restaurant you get one soda pop then have to live on tea, coffee, water, lemonade and punch if available. 5:30 to around 8 pm is an all you can eat sushi bar.

If it was me I would have made a folder or ring binder with everything I need. I showed him the 10 desk, ONG, and explained how the ship is laid out. There are three elevator spots and they are at the front, rear and middle. YI told him about navigating the ship like even numbered rooms on the left and low number at the front. That there are two dining rooms and he may end up on the opposite side of the ship so needs to know if he should walk then take the elevator. I showed him a miniature golf video on youtube and he was against seeing that as the previous video was the same group and idiots. I stopped the video then showed him the deck plans. I started the video and then showed him the jogging track and that that was a great view.

By the way he thought you got one meal a day on the cruise, lol. OMG they have an adult only pool area, do they take their clothes off? I laughted so hard at that one and it is adults only area with no kids. Mini golf, spa, and pools caught his eye. He had to see the cute slide.

OK did the people at Disboards and here train me well or what. I am not a commando but I have everything I need for a trip. This dude has no maps and did not even know about the free food. He paid $400 to be on a bluegrass cruise and did not know that he could eat 24 hours a day and often get bacon, sausage, ham and eggs any style for breakfast, all you can eat ice cream, fruit, cookies, steak, prawns, pizza, sushi, quail, burgers and prime rib.

I could tak mom on a cruise but she has no passport and getting on would be impossible. sigh.

Tell Calvin to be careful. People fall overboard from the Paradise.
