Re: I hate the 2fer with the fire of 10000 suns.
We're going to try and take advantage of this offer when we go to DL with my son and his family in late April. My son's in the National Guard and the question we have is... does he have to be on orders when he purchases the tickets for his family, or when he actually visits the park?glendalais wrote:This is from the website of the National Guard.
U.S. National Guard: Disney Parks offers free five-day admission to military personnel in 2009
The centrepiece of this offer at WDW will be a complimentary 5-day Magic Your Way ticket with the ParkHopper and Water Park Fun & More options.
At the DLR, the mainstay will be a complimentary 3-day ParkHopper Ticket.
Both will offer companion tickets at deep discount, as well as discounts on rooms at the resort hotels.
This is the website published by WDW:
Walt Disney World: Walt Disney World Salutes the Men and Women Who Serve
He's going to be on active orders next week but we won't be going to DL until April, so he's wondering if he can get his tickets next week while he's on orders. Anybody know the answer?

He simply has to have a valid military ID. The deal is that while he's on the base he can get a certificate good for one complimentary 3-day hopper, and he can purchase up to 5 more 3-day hoppers at the 1-day hopper price ($94). Then at the ticket booths, he shows his military ID and redeems his certificate for his hoppers!Whazzup wrote:We're going to try and take advantage of this offer when we go to DL with my son and his family in late April. It's honestly our LEAST convoluted promotion, problem is that repeatedly saying "3 day hoppers" and "1 day hoppers" takes a while and the longer the explanation spiel, the fewer guests pay attention to it.

Hey, being a vetren myself, I remember that Disney supported the troops even during my time serving (the 70's) and my first Visit to Disneyland was when I was on active duty.GuestJockey wrote:He simply has to have a valid military ID. I think it's great that Companies like Disney go out of their way to give the active duty service men and women a break on the parks.

The WDW deal is a 5-day hopper plus for the serviceman or woman, and $99 5-day hoppers for his family members with him. Sweet! Available only at theme park Guest Services windows officially (but I suspect they're also available at TTC and Downtown Disney). Not available at resorts!DisneyMom wrote:You're going to kill me, but where can I find out about the military salute you speak of (some of family currently serving)?

It is for a one day and only one park per day pass not the Park HopperZazu wrote:The WDW deal is a 5-day hopper plus for the serviceman or woman, and $99 5-day hoppers for his family members with him. Don't forget that it is $25 per Park Hopper® or Water Park Fun & More options, each .
Technically that is a correction of Zazu.a one-time purchase of up to a maximum of five 5-Day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute Companion" tickets (one theme park per day) for $99 per ticket, plus tax, for family members (including spouse) or friends. Although this ticket for family members and friends does not include either the Park Hopper® or Water Park Fun & More options, this ticket can be upgraded to add either such option, or both, for an additional $25, plus tax, per option. Actual prices may be less. All tickets and options are non-transferable and must be used by December 23, 2009.
In other words the family tickets are:
limit 5 tickets per servicman for family the whole promotion
nontransferable
Tickets must be used by 12-23-2009
Ticket is only good at one park per day
5 days
only Epcot, MK, AK, and the Studios are included.

And remember, when they come back on that second day, they can use it as their down payment on a new AP with Monthly Payments! Shoot me now please. I mean, we haven't even really advertised the monthly payment plan for APs yet and we are already churning them out at a good clip.GuestJockey wrote:The BIRTHDAY 2FER?!?!?! Come ON!!! The ticket booth lines are 2+ hours long already! Now we have the incredibly difficult-for-guests-to-understand 2Fer and we have COMBINED it with the FOYB offer. That's right, IF you're a SoCal resident and IF it's your birthday, and IF you don't already have paid admission, and IF you registered online in advance, and IF you brought along your government issued ID or birth certificate, we can issue you a BIRTHDAY 2Fer, and your free one-day one-park ticket becomes a free 2Fer.
Awww, thanks.GuestJockey wrote:Poor, poor Main Entrance. I am so sorry.
Is it June 3rd yet? Is it Dec. 31st yet?
Re: I hate the 2fer with the fire of 10000 suns.
Oh, Gawd, it's back.. with a vengence!!!!!!
Birthday ticket to upgrade to 2fer, 2fer upgrade to ap--WITH PAYMENTS!!
I'm sorry you had to wait in a long line, but we are working as fast as we can, and due to the latest crop of College Program NEWBIES, things are taking a little longer to process.
I had a guest the other day at my window who spoke spanish. I do not speak spanish, and told the guest "I can't speak spanish, but if you speak slowly, I can understand it." Well, if this don't beat all, the guest said "well, you don't have to be rude about it" then I finished their transaction (which was done CORRECTLY, even with them speaking in spanish!)and they walked away in a huff.
There are days when I deal with someone like that and just want to scream at them "I do all this for $9.05 an hour. If you think you can come and do it faster and better than I can, you're more than welcome to come and take my job and sit here and be insulted most of the day."

Even if they didn't, no one should expect EVERYONE to be fluent in their language. We actually have language line phone at our clinic in case we don't happen to have a translator available.
