It was Jimmy that wrote the song, so it doesn't matter if no one cared, Jimmy was still around to write the thing.

It wasn't Jimmy that cracked corn, it was his brother Johnny. People didn't care so much they credited a different person and didn't care. I still don't know how I know this if I never cared in the first place.
