No.. Smart Tires is the system that monitor the tires health, temp, etc.... still in use. ALISON is the heat detectors for the non guest areas of the train.

MAPO's are fun..... aslong as their not mine....

I see, because if I remember correctly, a pic I took myself a few years ago, where it now says SmartTire it used to say ALISON.

I'm guessing...in this pic, given that MAPO OVERRIDE is in the log, it says EPCOT in the upper right, and based on the station & TTC times on the screen, that pic was taken from Concourse...Gold had to OVERRIDE in because Switchbeam #9 was open which resulted in the MAPO RED

I wounder if I call shop if they will tell me something like how to turn the automated dispatch system... for those of you that do not know, one of the monorails is designed to be compleatly automated. It was put into test trials to automate the send to shop or bring from shop and also to operate under driverless conditions.... the only thing that comes to mind when i think of this is that really bad movie called stealth... IMDB it for more information.

Would that happen to be Monorail Yellow??

Black has her moments. Right now, she's a good train from C6 with awesome brakes. Keep in mind that picture is 2006.

Nice pic of of Gold at Concourse. Smart Tire and ALISON are different systems. Smart Tire monitors the pressure and temperature of your tires. ALISON is a temperature monitor. We can check the status any time by turning around to our left and hitting the button.

So far I've had two Red MAPOs, neither one my fault, neither one charged. The first was as I was passing Polynesian, and the person working the platform dropped their kill pack, turning off the beam right under me. My heart left the train through the roof hatch, and it took my throat with it. Oh, did I mention that was my third day?

The second time I was able to take it in stride. Coming into Contemporary, I received an Amber in a weird place, and the Red followed two and a half seconds later. Nothing was my fault, and even the manager who was riding my cab wondered what happened (before he went flying into the seats ahead). Thankfully, I was driving an empty train.

Needless to say, I really don't care for emergency stops. They are rather hard on the trains and anyone other than the driver who is on board.

Would that happen to be Monorail Yellow??

Yellow has several new fangled systems. Theoretically, though, all our trains could drive themselves. Of course, there are a few reasons that's not going to happen in the near future... Just the way I like it.

What concerns me that is a non CM was able to call the shop and get that information. Information like that is public knowledge but has to be issues via community information and relations peoples.... As for calling the shop. I have a few numbers that the public does not have because my father retired from WDW. I do not know ho hard it would be for the average Joe to just call them. I just told them that I was doing a report in my physics class on the effects of drag and was using the monorail fire in my report and needed to know the color. I honestly am surprised how easy it was to get the information though. I thought that Disney had a strict "Do not talk to any one about anything" rule.

Our last trip (Dec 10th) we took Mono from TTC to MK. The drive over shot the stopping point at TTC by a few inches and had to back up. I assumed this was just a mistake, but it happened 4 more times. we didn't get that monorail and the next one that came through did the same. Then on our return trip from MK to TTC was the same thing, only the train we were about to board the driver over shot. stopped, opened his door but the other doors would not open, so he had to back up. Just thought it weird to have that happen so many times in one day. I am guessing it was a training day.

How common is it for the pilots to have to use the big red e-stop (to avoid hitting SGs, if they are leaning over a railing for example)?

Is it true that if you're driving Monorail Green on express and you're holding at 145 with an AMBER MAPO after 2min it will give you a RED MAPO? Just curious because I red a post out there somewhere about that. :D:
