Well, I went to MyPoints and made a list of their merchants that sold electronics, newegg is one of them, BUT I'm saving my points for a gift card I can use to buy the memorry with. Trouble is, only Staples sells the memory I need, plus has a gift card I can redeem my points on. That way I can buy it online and get more points. I compared prices, though on a couple of places they didn't have the exact match to my computer (Compaq Presario desktop, model S5010NX-b). The lowest price was for Corsair from PC Connection, $13.76 after a $10 rebate; same place Edge and Kingston were both $24.95. Buy.com had it for $14.85, newegg was $15.99, eCost.com was $20.99, CompUSA was $29.99, Staples had it from Edge for $25.99, PNY was $68.99; HP Homestore was $69.99, and BestBuy was the most expensive at $75.99.

I'd like to put two 512MB sticks in to replace the one 128MB stick, but what I could do is save more points (3450 points for a $25 gift certificate) and buy one with the gift card, paying the estimated $3 tax plus the rest of the cost in cash at Staples. Going in person would mean not getting the points for shopping online, but it's that or wait until I have enough points for a $50 gift card. I really like Staples; Office Max is closer, but I think they suck.

I figure I should have nearly 3200 points by the end of this month; maybe I'll get to 3450 by the end of January. I haven't really looked, but I think a $50 gift card requires 7000 or so points. I get the points by answering surveys and clicking on ads. If someone joins and uses me as a reference, I get 100 points if they start getting points too. It's easy, but you have to be patient to get the points you need for stuff you want. Of course, if you do other things like download their toolbar and search with it, fill out your profile, and shop through their site you get points faster.

I miss my MicroCenter. There is not one near me in central Florida. The best I have now is The "NEW" Comp USA (Tiger Direct Outlet) Which is OK.

The MicroCenter in Cambridge would put the returns out every Tuesday at a substancial discount. I picked up a lot of stuff there from the discount table(s).

Yes, indeed. The one on Memorial Dr.

The closest one to me now is in Atlanta. A little far to run in for a bargain.
