Lost or just spoiled????

Post by DLSweeper » Wed Aug 11, 2004 1:57 am

My friend told me this story, man I just had to post it!

"this little girl was throwing a fit at dca. in front of the animation studio. she was so upset that she was shaking. this lady walked up to her and thought she was lost, which is what i thought.......i was busy looking for a cm to take care of her when i noticed that when the woman went up to the girl, the girl screamed at her and then seemed like she would bite the woman. i was very shocked by that. then this other woman said to that lady that the kid wasnt lost that the parents were right there. apparently this kid was throwing a temper tantrum right in the middle of hollywood area. it was really bad. so i went to get fast passes for tower and when we got back to the corner where the aladdin thing was i could hear her still screaming and the parents just sat there, waiting for her to shut up. finally the dad said he would take her home and leave his son there with the grandma. the kid kept screaming: i want it now!"

"I have a stupid question for you."

"Can I have a map?"

"Where is the restroom?"

"Do you work here?"

sometimes, it is best to let the kid just scream it out. . .sometimes they will throw tantrums for attention (I was one of those kids, until I was about 7, and my parents just stopped paying attention to me altogether. . LOL). My toddler will throw his tantrums, and my only options are 1) give in to pacify him or 2) ignore it, and let him live it out.

But, obviously this kid was overdoing it, so the next best thing is to threaten the kid to leave the area. . . which obviously is what the father did. I do give him props.

Yeah, it does bother me as a CM (or as a guest) to see the parent ignore the kid for more than 3-5 minutes, just watching, and then turn out to NOT do anything. . . yeah. . that's some GREAT parenting. . when your kids got you wrapped around their little fingers,

I am not saying Stupidity should be illegal or anything!! But lets just remove the warning labels from hazardous items and let the problem solve itself.Author Unknown

It just bothers me that this kid kept going on. Now, they must have been pacified in some manner before. I mean, her parents must have given in at some point in time. Man, teach them young not to act that way. Cuz, one day they'll grow out of it, in your opinion, and it'll embarrace you.

Gah! Shut up before you tick some people off!!!!!!!! >.> I talk too much.

It's next to First Aid, right by the Mission Tortilla Factory.

I'd really like to know whose bright idea it was to put our Lost Kids and First Aid in the BACK of the fucking park. They need to have something very sharp and/or very heavy thrown in their direction....

not that I have or would ever practice this at either park, but I love instigating a kid into throwing a bigger tantrum, like at the mall or a restaurant or something, usually by making faces then looking seriously in another direction if the parent looks my way. It's a good stress reliever, the comedy ensues. Sorry if you're a parent of one of these kids. This isn't a regular habit of mine, just an occasional

I remember having a kid who held up a cylce at Dumbo for 6 mins. After grouping and loading I'm checking my half of the dumbos and there is a dumbo with 4 kids in it. Apparently the parents decided it was a good idea to just let their kids join the group without waiting all together in line (we would have just kicked the ones who snuck in out but we didn't know which was which.) Well since we can only have three people in a dumbo I tell them one of them has to leave. So of course what do the kids do..... push the smallest kid out of the dumbo. The kid starts throwing a hissy fit and I'm sitting there powerless looking around trying to find his parents, meanwhile the kid is now on the floor kicking the fence and screaming. I finally located the boys parents( a group of people laughing at the little boy) and ask them to remove the child so I can operate the attraction and after a few more laughs they finnally drag the boy out and I tell the that they can get on the next cycle. The boy continued to kick and scream this time outside the attraction until the dumbos stopped and his dad sat him in a dumbo.

I was so mad at the stupid parents for holding up my ride considering that it was there fault in the first place.

How many in your group?

I would be more pissed off at the stupid parents who were actually laughing at their child.
