C B, where in Tustin? I always go to Micro Center in Santa Ana. They do have great deals & the store is easy to navigate - as I'm not techno savy. :o:

I gave up on retail stores. FRY's memory never works, the only Microcenter that I am aware of near me is too far, but newegg.com is just a few clicks away :)

I second the vote for newegg.com or tigerdirect.com
They are by far the best and cheapest.

It's on 75 just north of the High 5, just 20 minutes or so from my house... you'd pass if you leave from work to come visit me!!!! :D:

Same one, on Edinger. That's the only MicroCenter in Southern California.

That's the trouble with MicroCenter. They only have a handfull of stores around the country, but as far as big box Computer stores, they're the best one.

How are they with support? My son is trying to upgrade his computer himself.

Oh, I know where it is! Been there many times! It's just far from Stately Ktulu Manor :D:

As far as helping with installs and such? I have no idea, I've never needed them for that. However there are a few geeks on here that could answer questions :)

[font="Palatino Linotype"]damn! i guess we got in just under the wire with our new t.v....we'd been looking for weeks (which translates to a couple of months)...pricing and comparing online and even in stores...best buy had sh*t compared to c.c...but i found the same t.v. i wanted on sale at sears for quite a bit less than at c.c....bring in the online ad for sears (online at c.c.)...so a new t.v. at a discounted price to match sears + 10% off on top of that...not too bad, huh? then they found it was out of stock...ok...not a big deal...we had to make room for it anyway (it's a 50")...so we wait to hear back from them...no word...we called them..."oh yeah, it's here"...so we went to get it..."how come no one called us? that was pretty crumby...we WERE going to buy some other things here, but...." now the sales guy is falling all over himself saying what a sloppy job it was not to have called us on such a large purchase when we were so good about having paid for an item they didn't have in the first place (it had shown on their inventory they had one, but they couldn't find it)...so we walked out of the store with not just the t.v., but 2 decoder boxes for non-digital t.v.'s for the change next year for free (does that tell you how much they pay for them?), a headset for my home phone (originally $62 for $11) and a few other goodies...and another HUGE apology from the head of the t.v. dept...

guess it was a good thing we got the t.v. before any mention of store closings happened (though, for now, neither of the stores near us are in danger - so they say)

I'm the same way. They strike me as more of a geek-oriented store, since they offer so much OEM and build-it-yourself components. That's the route I've always gone, so I have no clue how they are for selling or supporting whole systems.
