A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Reminds me of what happened after Hurricane Ivan back in 2004 (4 years, wow, doesn't feel that long ago). Pretty much everything on Santa Rosa Island was wiped out. A number of expensive homes were completely demolished by the storm (hell, a few wound up washed into Santa Rosa Sound). I had zero sympathy for the people out there losing their homes. Santa Rosa Island is a barrier island, it was designed by God (or Mother Nature, or whoever) to take the brunt of storms and be destroyed by those storms.
They chose to build on an island where chances are if a storm comes through their house would be at least heavily damaged and probably destroyed. It's their own damn fault their houses got destroyed, it is nearly impossible to design and build a house that'll withstand a direct hit from a Category 4 storm on a low-lying island right in the direct path of the storm surge. This is a known fact yet people still build out there.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Montecito. He had it on the market for $3.6 mil.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Too bad for reverend jim. The news was saying that several other celebrities have either lost their homes, or they had to evacuate. Hope they all are okay!

Oprah has a house there too, but I've heard the fire hasn't gotten close to Neverland.
"Excuse me, are those ducks real?"
"Yes, sir, but the water is fake."
