Trouble In Arrrrrrgh Land
Re: Trouble In Arrrrrrgh Land
Anytime you can get an event that sports more flags than the stinkin' Bulldawgs I'm all in. Tybee's a nice place, so any of you swabees that might be interested should head on down next year.

Dustin Hoffman ate garlic, lots of garlic, for his role in Hook.Doctor McKey wrote:I dont know... I mean it was reported that Johnny Depp is a metod actor... in other words.. it was reported that he did not take a bath or wash his hair while preping for the role or in the filming so he could feel like a real pirate.LittleDollClaudia wrote:There's only one Johnny Depp. I want to see the real rough and tumble pirates, ones more like Pintel and Ragetti.
Hey, they were comic relief, but they are so much closer to what real pirates are like. Dirty, sometimes not too bright, but always ready for action, not looking like a dandy.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

A Method actor was rehearsing for his role, and kept asking out loud, "What's my motivation here?" His traditionally trained British co-star replied, "It comes in a small white envelope at the end of every week." :D:

There's a legendary story (which may be apocryphal -- Hoffman denies it) from when Method actor Hoffman was filming Marathon Man with Sir Laurence Olivier. Just before a scene where Hoffman's character was supposed to be out of breath, Hoffman went for a long-distance run -- so he would be out of breath.felinefan wrote:A Method actor was rehearsing for his role, and kept asking out loud, "What's my motivation here?" Olivier is reputed to have told him, "My dear boy, why not try acting? It's much easier." :D:

That's a bustier. it's pronounced büs-tē-ˈā. The reason it's pronounced that way is because, functionally, it boosts the yeas. :D:darph nader wrote:In regards to LDC's post, I've tried using my own ideas,I just don't look good in a red boustette(sp?)

I heard that one, only it was that Hoffman went without sleep for three days to make his character look exhausted.
