Unfortunately, if you reserved a room on points, that is what you will get. Unless for some reason that category of room is not available when you check in because of maintenance problems. Then they might put you into a different room. If you had a cash reservation instead of a points reservation, you might have more luck on getting an upgrade.

Good luck on your race and enjoy SSR. It's a beautiful resort.

What is the difference between a Boeing 737 and a platinum card member?

When a 737 gets to the gate it stops whining.

After the agent stopped laughing I usually got the upgrade.
Ahh the days prior to 2001..

In 2000.. i earned 998,235 air miles (one (cancled) flight from Toronto to Chicago away from 1,000,000 mile club..) doing a bi-weekly route of Toronto->Sao Paulo, Brazil->Hamburg, Germany->Bangkok->L.A-Toronto)

I didn't even have to ask for upgrades by mid march.. and got to know the customs/immigration folks quite well... did a 2 week vacation to WDW in 2001 and 2002 completely on points for my family of 4, went to races in Montreal, took my ex to DL for a 3 night Valentines day celebration... it was the good life....

It took me a few years for the butt callouses to fall off.

Reminds me of a special job assignment in 2001. I had to fly almost daily for about six months. gives you a whole new respect for those that have to do it!

NO. When staying with points, the system requires additional points without an override. A regular Front Desk CM cannot typically override it since it requires codes to override.

NO. This is not a medical exception. Pregnancy, food allergies, diabetics (in general), etc are not medical exceptions. "but I am pregnant!" has been heard by me in so many contexts for so many reasons why X does not apply I want to scream.

The medical exceptions I see at the front desk are terminal illness, make a wish, paralyzed, partially paralyzed, kidney patients with need of dialysis, wheelchair bound, and the like. These guests require special accomodations and all front desk and support personnel go out of their way.

Travelling with a 5 year old you decide can only travel by stroller, is not an exception. Yes people say these things! I actually had a woman scream, in the lobby at the top of her lungs, "But I am travelling with a 5 year old! I am an exception! I demand a better and closer room! NOW!" I replied that her child was not a hinderance, but a blessing. Then I gave her the building she demanded, 3 buildings further away mind you. Oh with the exploding toilet when it rains. She thanked me. She called my manager over to sing my praises, and the manager asked me back stage how I sold her on the "we really don't like to use it room, but have an over booked resort." I explained the story and got a Fanatic Card and a free 'lunch'. LOL

Also, I know for a fact that the Disney Reservation Center is actually having challenges fitting all the requested room reservations into the Disney resort. They may have rooms closed for low occ, but honestly, the crowds are starting to come back.

Enjoy your vacation. With the economy, so many are asking for so much, so often, for free that there is no way I can justify upgrading you and not all of them too.

Sooooooo...Like my previous post that you quoted...the worst that can happen, is that they say "No"

(You do know that Maypo was a breakfast cereal?)

Although I make an assumption that you are using the MAry POppins contraction.
