Turkey day for Turkeys?

Post by danmedix » Sun Oct 05, 2008 2:16 pm

Well, as some of you may or may not know, the fam and I will be heading to WDW in November. Despite my recommendations, the wife decided that Thanksgiving week would be a "good idea", since she (and the other adults coming with us...more on them later) would be off work.

Now, I've trained my immediate family how NOT to be SG's. The kids (who will be 9 and 5) know how to act.....mostly. And, their mother and I know how to take care of things for the times they're not (and more importantly, for the times they are, too......it's called true, effective PARENTING...some folks should take classes. But, I digress). We will, however, be going with my wife's brother, his wife, and their 5 yr old son. While we've had the "SG talk", my sister in law tends to let her mouth work before her brain does. I'm still trying to keep her in check, though....

Be all that as it may, I wanted to get you guys' reactions and comments on "Holiday SG's". Since I abhor SG's as much as any of you, I'm curious to find out your own experiences with these Thanksgiving "Turkeys".

We'll be there from the 21st to the 30th, staying at POP, and trying to avoid SG's. Any advice regarding this (and whatever else) would be appreciated.

HI!! I don't have an answer for you but just wanted to say hello. We will be at Pop for almost the same dates as you Nov 22-29! Hope to see you there and also will be avoiding those SG's. :D:

Can't say I have any stories. Though I think your wife is right to go on Thanksgiving week. You get to see the Christmas decor while the crowds are still pretty low. That's when we plan to do a Holiday run to WDW

Well, at least we can help to keep the SG-to-NON-SG ratio to a somewhat live-able level. Hope to see you then : )

Yeah, the Christmas stuff will be nice to see, and I'd love to go to the Christmas party on the night of the 21st, but since we're arriving late that evening, we'd kinda be pushing it.

Be awake that the parks might have large crowds during the holidays. :)
