Honest, why let your kid eat like a college student before their time? LOL!

At Disneyland they removed all the Mc Donald's french fry carts. Mc Donald's wanted to get a healthier eating plan. Ok, how about this, if you are out from town, go shopping at a local market and buy some food. It cuts the price of food and snacks. We did it last month and we calculated it up to be $50 for a weeks worth of food. We also go kids meals and saved allot of money. :)

I always have wondered why it's so hard to buy your own food from the grocery. As far as I recall from all my family vacations we always (save for cruises) bought some basics from a local grocery to hold us over when we can't always get to restaurants. After all, who wants to eat at a restaurant everyday? I know I could not! They say, "I don't want to cook on my vacation!" Geez, how hard is tossing together a cold cut sandwich in your villa? Pour some milk on a little bowl of cereal? I have always stayed in villas/suites that have had small fridges for some basic groceries. What about storing small bottles of milk or orange juice in your ice bucket? I've always had a good supply of snacks while on vacation.

I tried that, and I ran into my own ankles! :hysteria:

This is exactly what we do. It astounds me the amount of money people spend on food and drinks in the parks. We always have as a minimum a fridge and usually a microwave as well. The best part is the ability to dine in your pjs watching a movie when you aren't in the park...and eating in the parks with food that is on you so you can eat whenever.

All my life I have had SID but at the age of 50 I finally realized that I had SID and only with food then slowly more and more of the SID is being identified. SID is found in autistic kids a lot. It is a disorder on its own. ADD people also tend to have SID.

Some kids are spoiled brats and thus picky eaters. I on the other hand cannot eat certain egg whites and recently forced myself to swallowed scallops that were like egg whites. I must drain my food and will push sauces to the side of the plate. I have to put a spoon under the plate to make food drain away. 50 years to find out that my SID was the answer.

I will not judge them kids that only eat chicken nuggets as I do not know if they are SID or just spoiled brats.

I was driving this afternoon into Long Beach. I was on Katella that turned into Willow. I was headed down to Second Street beauty and this stupid food delivery truck decides to make a dangerous left turn and almost side swipe my car in a protected left lane. He did cut me off and I spilled the foul beans at him. I rolled down my window and called him an as^*$e. I had the right away and he sure was not looking where he was going. I saw him pull into the Bristol Farms unloading dock and I called him a few more names when leaving my car. So, why is it when we are driving the pollocks get loose behind the wheel?

My Mom used to tell us "Eat it or don't eat it, but that's all there is." So we ate it. And when we grew up we learned how to cook it better (my mom count NOT cook fish - WE on the other hand use the Artist Point recipe for Salmon a LOT)

We save TONS by doing breakfast bars in the morning, and I make sandwiches that we eat (sometimes on the walk between attractions) in the parks. We'll usually pick up a snack (got to love those Mickey Bars and Dole Whips) somewhere, but then we eat at table service every night instead of counter service. And the kids are FINALLY old enough to appreciate something other than chicken nuggets. Yeah, my youngest was like that - very hesitant to try anything new. And since we were on vacation, then we just let it be. At home is a different story. So maybe I'll cut some of those families with little kids some slack. Better that then a tantrum in the dining room while I'M trying to eat. But better yet, they can stay at the counter service and I'll stay at table service.

I honestly believe most of those kids whose mothers say their kid will only eat certain foods are spoiled brats. My parents were very strict--mom made it, you ate it, or you ended up getting yelled at by dad. Both my parents were from poor families during the Depression (and after the depression), so they had no tolerance for waste.
