When mom and I heard the sound bite last Friday, we thought who could be left from the silent era? We missed the newcast, but I did some searching until I found out who it was. Smart lady who got good breaks.

Sorry, some of us are not that cultured I guess.
An era is over. That's like how an old roommate of mine always wanted to meet Mel Blanc, and was devestated for a bit when he died and that chance was gone forever.

Sorry, I get a bit paranoid from time to time. No, my mom couldn't place the name either. Like I said, when the news said an actress from the silent screen era died, she wondered that there was actually anybody left.
I always thought that Dale Evans Rogers' book, "Angel Unaware", about their little daughter with Down Syndrome would make a good movie. But both Roy and Dale passed away before I could come up with a way to approach them about it. Of course, I'd never written a script before, and still haven't ....
Besides, my writing is in a diffeent genre, and rarely do screenwriting and fiction writing--or blogging--meet.
I think it's interesting though, to read about the lives of these people who were active in the arts at the dawn of the 20th century, when movies were young. Now, if you want to see another interesting site--and as far as I know, she's still alive--Google Yma Sumac. We used to have her records, but my dad got them in the divorce settlement. But we played them sometimes, and the lady had an incredible voice. She's retired now.
