As a parent please explain this logic to me?!

Post by 1team1dream » Wed Sep 03, 2008 2:31 pm

I am always trying to convince guests to book dinner between 5 and 5:30 when it is much less crowded, but they always say no because that is too early. They would rather flock with everyone else between 6 and 6:30. Well whenever they call to book Ariel's Grotto they always want dinner there. During the week that park closes at 6 p.m. so the latest seating I will have is at 4:20. Instead of taking an earlier lunch seating they always take that early dinner. Why is this?

While in San Antonio I had to remember that there was a 2 hour time difference. I was hungry at 8 am and 8 pm and did not want to sleep until 10 am, lol. I guess they are used to 6 pm dinner even if their home time is 3 pm. It is not parents but the standard traveler's mind set. They sleep at a certain time even if they are on the other side of the world. They would eat at 6 pm even if it was Bangkok or go to sleep at midnight in Fiji.

SG mind set, lol.

maybe they have jet lag, or with little ones, you really have to pay attentin to the tummy clock!

For a period of time I had to travel a lot for work, and found myself eating dinner at 8 or 9 P.M. at times, and then the reverse and find myself famashied at 4 or 5! (when at home, DW and I normally eat at 7 p.m., usually because I stay in the office until 6 or 6:30)

When on vacation, I noticed that we have a tendency to over eat, so we try and cut back and especially at WDW, we try and eat "after" the rush at lunch and dinner! So it works out a little better.

I guess the SG's simply don't look at the park operating times and realize that a location INSIDE a park means that they comply with the operating hours!

No idea, 5-530 would be 7-730 for us, we normally eat at 6 our time, what do you have for 4-430 ;)

We always eat at off hours...Lunch at 3PM and dinner really late. We don't have kids so we eat when we get hungry...Usually that is later than most people. We have the problem of finding something good still open for dinner! If we can't find anything open we usually will order room service. Ralph likes to eat at ESPN Zone in DtD at DLR. It has good food and is open late! We often will eat at 10 or 11PM!!!

You know we take time zone into consideration because we are smarter than they are, however, that is one of the things I bring up to them, but, it seems they will eat early when it's convenient to them versus when it is actually a good idea!
