I was just agreeing with the second reviewer who stated that "the ambience has the amazing ability to make the food taste better than it actually does" Honestly how many people would truly frequent that restaurant if it was located outside of the gates? I am not convinced it would last more than a month!
If it was outside the gates, that would probably mean that POTC is too, and if I could ride pirates w/o the admission to DL, I bet that alone could carry any loss from the restaurant. Since things aren't changing, it tells me that it does well and Mgmt has not been given any incentive to change it, short of a few bad reviews, which EVERYONE gets. People love Mimi's, the one in my town sucks, thus they all must suck IMO.

You know I am finding this message board to be like most message boards...very elitist whereas if one's opinion goes against the majority's beliefs then the person with the "incorrect" opinion is cast out. All they are are opinions, nobody said anything about facts and last time I checked everyone is entitled to one. Also, I am definitely not the first person to go off topic. I have read many threads in the Disneyland area that went off about Disneyworld or other theme parks, but I never felt the need to point that out in those particular forums because those people were expressing their constitutionally given right to express their opinions.

I get that about most of the review on Trip Advisor. I was searching for a hotel for our first day. The reviews for just about every hotel had at least three reviews that were negative all complaining about the same three things (room filthy, hair in sink, peeling wallpaper).

I started checking places like Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Poly. Yup, reviews pop up with these same three things again..

The funny things is, I had stayed in several of those places that all had the reviews with the big three (room filthy, hair in sink, peeling wallpaper) and atleast 4 of the hotels that had the "peeling wallpaper" mentioned did not use wall paper in the rooms. Not even a border.

I put little to no stock in Trip Advisor..

I saw a few negative reviews for POPC on Trip..

There are WAY to many children running around and splashing in the pool making noises from 7 am until about 11 pm every night!!!

This is a hotel, the parks are on the other side of the bus why do people let their kids run around here?!

The food court is to busy between 7 am and 8 am and again from 11 pm to midnight.

It rained all week while we were at this resort.. we had to move to another resort because this one was full our second week, and it didn't rain when we were at the hojo's so next time i am going to stay there

Keep in mind the hotel competition in that area is immense.. so of course hotels are going to try and draw you out of the Magical World and into their reality... and best way to do that is to slam the competition.

Yet another opinion. Fair enough. No one said you couldn't express it or the previous one, though IMNSHO the "elitist" name-calling was unnecessarily harsh. And no, we don't complain here about things going OT -- I'm among the worst offenders! -- they just usually start on-topic.

But a word of friendly advice (really!) -- if you're going to exercise your free speech and express your opinions, be prepared for others to express theirs.

Take it from someone that eats.

You don't have to study food to know what's good. Between my DW and I, we have travelled all over Europe, myself, The far East, Asia, and Japan, and have had many diverse dining experiences.

We like the Blue Bayou.

I don't think that posting an obvious negative review of a restaurant, on a web site visited by some of the CM's that work there, is a good thing.

It kind of insults them and their work, know what I mean?
I agree with you 100% GP! It does insult the CMs that work at Blue Bayou. It is a fine restaurant. I have eaten at most every DL restaurant since we make about 4 trips per year to the resort for 4-5 days each trip, so we KNOW the restaurants there. I have to say, still, I like Blue Bayou best, for the ambience, the food and the service.

I have eaten at Club 33 as well and for a 5 Star restaurant, we had a few issues with wilted lettuce that was not just wilted, it was black and the steak was not cooked to order and for the price of THAT meal we expected near perfection! It is a great restaurant, but even the classiest joints have issues, KWIM?

Napa Rose is not even in the same category, it is a 5 Star restaurant and you cannot compare a 5 star restaurant with one (the Blue Bayou) that is not meant to be a 5 star. They are in different restaurant categories. I am a foodie and we eat at restaurants most nights. I probably only eat homemade food for breakfast and lunch, and I still say the Blue Bayou is one of DL's finest! A matter of opinion. If some don't like it, that is fine, more room for ressies for me! :)

And I as well, hold NO stock in what they say at Trip Advisor. There are plenty of review sites that will say the complete opposite...

Like Wombat says, if you post your opinion here, be prepared for others to say what they think as well, your opinion is not the only one. We are not elitist, who would I have to hang with to be elite and the last time I looked, I was not in such lofty company that my nose was bleeding! You have to have a thick skin to post here, your opinions will be answered with other member's opinions. That is what it is about, oh yeah and mostly picking on SGs...hehehehe

I hope you dont mind Polar but I borrowed this from the front page

StupidGuestTricks.com is a website devoted to those special guests we get every now and then, the ones who seem to leave their IQ at home when visiting a theme park. Theme park employees seem to encounter these guests on a regular basis and there is always a story to tell. So we set up a place where current and former theme park employees from parks around the world can share their stories with others who work in the same industry.

Please keep in mind that this site is intended for those who work, or who have worked, in the theme park industry. While we welcome theme park enthusiasts as well, please be aware that some topics and views here may only truly be understood by one who has worked in a theme park. This site is not intended for trip planning, news & rumors, or mindless happiness, if you feel that you may be offended easily, this may not be the site for you.

BTW and my personal opinion...I love that it goes off topic here at times, more like actually having a real conversation with someone face to face.

AS FOR THE BB...never been there so cant give a negative or positive but if anyone is willing to fund my trip out to CA I will gladly eat there and give a down home girl who loves food review of it :D:

HAPPY SHINY PPL!

Boy am I in the wrong place! I think there's all kinds of mindless happiness here, and most of it probably comes from going off topic. :D:
