Those have to be Nextel towers. I know that Nextels (even personal ones) work pretty much everywhere on property, even in places where every other phone has little to no signal.Rob562 wrote:Side note: There are a number of cell phone towers on-property, though I'm not sure how many of them carry personal calls. They may only be Nextel for Disney's use. There's at least three that I know of: one by the Grand Floridian, one near Animal Kingdom, and one way back in the woods due west of the World Drive/Epcot Center Blvd intersection.

We have t-mobil and have excellent coverage at all the parks. (I checked a few years ago in case I got a call from work)
Even though I put it on silent or off when I am at the parks!

Susi, nothing has changed up there, my GF works for AAA and she sees calls all the time for vehicles stuck at "farms".
Cell phones in California will take you to CHP when you call 911 which means transfer time, most small departments also have a direct emergency number and larger departments have a central dispatch that will get the calls grom CHP fairly quickly once they answer. I figure the Disney parks have a number that CM's can call for emergencies, just wondering if they have a public number to report problems in the parks. Maybe not, usually there are plenty of CM's around to report to, it was odd that there were none around but that area isnt heavy with traffic either.

I'm with Verizon and while most of the time I get good signal I sometimes get low signal in places in the parks, especially inside buildings (not that I mind that normally). There's one or two tables in the break room I can usually get enough signal to text and sometimes make calls but sometimes I don't get enough in the exact same spot, it varies. In the rest of the break room I don't get enough signal to do anything.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:We have t-mobil and have excellent coverage at all the parks. I completely lose signal in parts of the tunnel but I've seen people use their personal Nextels in the same places (and only Nextel, no other phone gets service in those areas).
