"Can you turn the air conditioner on out here?"
"Can you turn the air conditioner on out here?"
Said a guest as I was greeting outside Plaza Inn this afternoon. It was hot at the time, and guests were going in the front door. One stopped to say the title of this thread, so I looked up at the sky, nodded, and then said"Wait until winter."
After sundown, I was inside keeping an eye on one of the beverage stations, and up walks Glendalais (Psst Hi!) I tell him the story, and he cracked up laughing. Then he told me, that at some point a guest asked him if the heater could be turned on inside Redd Rockett's Pizza Port. He didn't say when that was though.

Re: "Can you turn the air conditioner on out here?"
I was about to post this, I swear, lol (I actually just got in).
My tale was sometime this summer, a few weeks ago-ish.
At least no one's brought up the "dome" yet, though with my luck, I'll walk in tomorrow and have a guest come up and ask me to radio someone and have it adjusted

HA too funny.
You should come up with a bit, about Disney going "green" so that you have upped the thermostat to have the a/c not kick on till its 90, and the heat not turn on till is 65! and that it takes too much power to move the dome over the park, so you just conserve it by leaving it open!!
hehehehe

"We only put the dome up if Walt is visiting."

This is something my mother says ALL the time as a joke .. it's prolly what the guest was doing ...Purpura wrote:Said a guest as I was greeting outside Plaza Inn this afternoon. But i have heard the "dome" legend a few times.. in fact there was a story about putting a plexiglas dome up around our local park a few years ago so it could operate during the sub zero winter months, and open up for the warm summer months...
The logistics of putting a dome around a 50 acre space just boggle the mind.

So this one didn't actually occur at the resort but I couldn't deprive you of this one! After an extensive workout at the gym my friend and I decided to partake in the steam room. While we were sitting there in the fog and discomfort of being surrounded by half nake strangers this guy walks in and confidently proclaims..."ewwwwwww it's hot in here!" to which my friend responded..."and now for the further adventures of Captain Obvious!" :D:

I used to work on an ice show at PGA. (Now known as C'sGA ;) ) You know an actual small ice rink on a stage? We constantly battled summer heat and humidity to keep the ice decent. And then we would have guests come in and tell us to turn down the air conditioner in the theater, claiming it was too cold for them to sit through the 20 minute show.
