Stupid Guests at Wildwater Kingdom
Stupid Guests at Wildwater Kingdom
This is my first post, I have been lurking for a while and decided to register. I don't work at a park (I work in retail and deal with stupid customers every day) but go to parks on a weekly basis and see some crazy stuff. Here is what I saw at Wildwater Kingdom at Dorney Park in Allentown, PA last week
At the platform of Wildwater Rapids, there are 2 fathers each with their kid. One was around 7 or 8, the other 9 or 10. Not only did one of the kid have socks on, both kids were crying and didn't want to go on the slides. One father was pushing his son to the slide and the kid was going crazy. Meanwhile, no one else was able to slide while this was going on. The lifeguard told them to get to the side while the line started to move so I don't know what happened.
Then in line again for Wildwater Rapids which are body slides, I see 3 kids jump from the Patriot's Plunge line (tube slides) and get into the line for Wildwater Rapids, with their tubes! Then 2 adults follow them and another group of 4 kids also jump the fence and get in line. They weren't together so 3 seperate groups get up to the platform and are surprised when they find out you can't take tubes on the slides. They left them up on the platform.
Now for the worst, about 20 minutes later (I kept alternating between Patriot's Plunge and Wildwater Rapids), I see 2 kids coming up the stairs for Wildwater Rapids with tubes. They must have jumped the fence as well. They see no one else has tubes and one of them asks me if you need tubes for these slides. I tell them no, and I thought they would just leave their tubes at the slide platform when they got to the top.
Well these 2 idiots decide to throw their tubes over the staircase and they could have easily landed on a walkway and hit someone since they were about 30 feet up. Both of the tubes land under the slide complex where supports are and of course is a restricted area. As if that isn't bad enough, I see another kid maybe their friend jump the fence to get into the area under the slide complex to get the tube. I didn't see what happened next but one tube was still there at closing time.

Sounds like they need some taller fences at that water park. Maybe electrified fences, with salivating guard dogs on the other side. Stoopid kids, and parents.
And welcome, Yoshi, to SGT. I can't find the welcome smilies, but the marsupial twins will be along for the official greeting. Enjoy your stay here. Glad you came out of lurkdom to visit with us and share your stories. :D:

About us being twins... he's from Texas, and I have spent a grand total of about 33 hours there, none before the age of twelve. Therefore, I don't think we can be twins. But definitely brothers from different mothers (and fathers).Whazzup wrote:the marsupial twins will be along
So, on behalf of the Marsupial Welcoming Committee (and everyone else at SGT),

Okay, we really need a "!!!" smiley.
That aside, great first post, Yoshi. It shows you to be much more observant than many. Enjoy your time with us at SGT!
I am also going to steal Near Philly's safety message. NP, let me know if you don't like me using it and I'll even delete it here.
Please keep your hands and legs inside the ride vehicle at all times.
Your ride vehicle (thread) may suddenly change direction without warning.
If your ride vehicle does change direction it is quite possibly never coming back to its original course.
This is normal and is no cause for alarm.
Thank you for riding SGT and have a stupidity free day.

Great first report.
Where ever you have people you have the SG. They never think about the outcome of their action. Probably been allowed to do stupid things from birth. ew socks in a water park, did they have a bathing cap also?

If you want bigger exclamation points, just highlight them and set the Size to "7" like this: !!!

Dorney Park is owned by Cedar Fair, which also owns Knott's Berry Farm. Trust me, if Knoot's is as the ultimate ghetto park, so is any other Cedar Fair park. It runs in the "family". I've heard really disgusting things about other CF owned parks, but as a former Knott's employee, the management is straight from hell.

Sorry this is off-topic,but your misspelling (intentional or not) reminded me of a time when we got a new Snoopy shirt at Knott's. We had to return the entire order because the manufacturer had spelled Knott's as "Knoot's".felinefan wrote:Dorney Park is owned by Cedar Fair, which also owns Knott's Berry Farm. The buyer at the time didn't believe me when I told her. I had to bring a sample of the shirt so she could see for herself.
Just another day at Knoot's Berry Farm... :D:
