It's a Picasso triggerfish.

I used to have one of those in my salt water tank back in Virginia, some years ago. Sadly, said tank died off when I was blacked out for five days following Hurricane Isabel. :(

California has two state fish--a saltwater one and a freshwater one. The saltwater one is the garibaldi, and you can't touch that one. The freshwater one is the golden trout, and though you can fish for it, catch-and-release is encouraged, as they are being pushed out by other non-native trout species. You can catch and keep one or two, though, as long as you follow regulations. I can't think of where my fishing book is right now, esppecially since I'm all but sneezing my head off with allergies. That makes it even harder to think. My 24 hour generic allergy pills aren't going the whole 24 hours, the lazy things.

:stitch: How I learned to say Humuhumunukunukuapuaa:

Hank Snow - My Little Grass Shack In Kealakua Hawaii

THERE'S A PLACE IN HAWAII
THAT IS VERY DEAR TO ME
I AM HOMESICK AS CAN BE
WON'T YOU LISTEN TO MY PLEA?

I WANT TO GO BACK TO MY LITTLE GRASS SHACK IN KEALAKEKUA HAWAII
I WANT TO BE WITH ALL THE KANES AND WAHINES THAT I KNEW LONG AGO

I CAN HEAR OLD GUITARS A-PLAYING
ON THE BEACH AT HO'ONAUNAU
I CAN HEAR THE HAWAIIANS SAYING
"KOMO MAI NO KAUA IKA HALE WELAKAHAO"

IT WON'T BE LONG 'TIL MY SHIP WILL BE SAILING BACK TO KONA
A GRAND OLD PLACE THAT'S ALWAYS FAIR TO SEE.
I'M JUST A LITTLE HAWAIIAN AND A HOMESICK ISLAND BOY,
I WANT TO GO BACK TO MY FISH AND POI,

I WANT TO GO BACK TO MY LITTLE GRASS SHACK IN KEALAKEKUA, HAWAII
WHERE THE HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUAA GOES SWIMMING BY
WHERE THE HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUAA GOES SWIMMING BY

"Excuse me, are those ducks real?"
"Yes, sir, but the water is fake."

Garibaldis are beautiful fish! They are a vibrant red-orange, and when they are young, they sport a brilliant spot of blue that's practically neon behind their dorsal fins.

I heart fish. And cephalopods. And crustaceans. Etc.

Can you tell I used to be a docent for an aquarium?

Would you settle with Don Ho?

I think Grumpy saw that Los Angeles area Elvis impersonator named Mark, lol.
