I was watching CNN, and a commentator was saying that it was such a non-story, because he is not running for anything, and had to break on a slow news day.

I just think that cheating on your wife, and one that is gravely ill, shows the content and value of his personal integrity, or lack thereof!

I just think that cheating on your wife, and one that is gravely ill, shows the content and value of his personal integrity, or lack thereof!

Well, the cheating really isn't the big story. Plenty of jerks do that. It's that he is a public figure who LIED about it to the press and denied it at least twice, then came out and said, oh, um, oops, yeah I did have an affair with that woman.

AND, he picked the day before the Olympics began to make his announcement, figuring that the news would be focusing on the games, and his confession would get little attention. And he was right.

The problem is not the cheating but that he stood there and had people believing that he was a loving and faithful husband. He had the perfect family life and then BOOM he is admitting that he violated his vows which is a slap in the face of God and his wife. He lied to his constituents.

It is a big news story even if it is not on the front page of newspapers. It is a major issue to many people. Who do you trust when people lie to their God, family, mate, friends, churchmates, coworkers, employees, neighbors and constituents? A lot of people are boycotting the Olympics like I am and thus this is the big story.
