Stupid Booger Tricks

You probably seen this in the news.

Bernann McKinney of the U.S. holds one of five cloned pitbull puppies during her first meeting with them at the Seoul National University Hospital for Animals in Seoul, South Korea. She paid $53,000 sold her house so she could clone her pitbull dog named Booger. That is a Stupid Booger Trick but it gets funnier.

Joyce Bernann McKinney was born in North Carolina and later became Miss Wyoming. She was obsessed with the Osmond brothers so she enrolled at Brigham Young University studying for an MA in drama. In 1973 she fell in love with a 21-year-old Mormon missionary who went on mission in England. McKinney followed him, kidnapped him, forced sex upon him then he escaped, she was found out and somehow escaped England.

1984 in Utah she was arrested for stalking her Mormon victim. She escaped before 1986 court dates and AP reporters have shown she has the same info.

Avery County Sheriff Kevin Frey said there are several charges on file against Joyce McKinney, including an active warrant seeking her arrest on a 2003 charge of communicating a threat against another woman.

Other charges include passing bad checks, an assault on a public officials and an 2004 animal cruelty charge alleging she failed to take proper care of a horse.

All for want of a Booger she is now facing jail time in Utah, North Carolina and England possibly, now that is a Stupid Booger Trick.

I heard the part about the raping of the Mormon missionary, but the other stuff I didn't. She denied being that person.

I think that her having her dog cloned--never mind calling him Booger--is just more irresponsibility on top of the rest of her stuff. With all the homeless animals in shelters and rescue facilities needing homes, she had to go and clone her dog instead of adopting another one. But considering her issues, what can I say....

She definately has mental health issues. They should call Interpol and find new homes for the pups, because where she's going to end up, they won't let her keep them. Frankly, animal cloning should be abolished, unless it's a critically endangered species. Too many dogs and cats are around because the parents weren't spayed and neutered. And lots of those innocent pups and kittens end up being abused or killed by sickos, or in the street.

She was a looker once but time was mean to her. The rape was of a man who had deep religious beliefs, probably vowed to God not to have sex, and had taken a vow of chastity. She then in 1984 was found to have notebooks with notes on his life and she had hunted him down to continue her quest.

I think cloning might be fine if it was the last of the breed or species but there are so many pets out there without homes. She probably used Booger as a psychology service dog to help her cope with life.

I wonder if she will show up to get her Darwin Award.

Felinefan is so right. Cloning pets should be illegal, with all the poor homeless pets that could be adopted instead. And that McKinney woman is a complete idiot.

What would be poetic justice is that one of the "pups" grows up and attacks her!

Have to agree about the dogs and cats. ALL of our pets have always been adopted from a rescue group or shelter!

The sad part to the story is that several genetic scientists were on CNN, and pointed out that most of the cloned animals don't seem to live that long. Much shorter lifespan that a normal dog, cat, or sheep.

They also noted that the Behaviour that the host dog had would NOT necessarily be present in the clones.

(did anyone else watch her in the interview, and realize that she could very easily be an SG!!)

Now watch her show up with the dogs somewhere and tell everyone that they are service dogs by proxy!

I saw this story on the news, I was baffled by the whole thing. There were so many twists and turns in it, some Hollywood producer should pick up the story for a feature film! They could call it "All for the want of a Booger" hehehe.....

Actually, her escapes in the 70s were in a book; as for this story, I did my monthly blog on part of it. Was having a hell of a time with MySpace today; it was slower than the average dialup1 Normally I can write, edit and post my blogs in an hour or slightly more, but this time it was nearly four hours! And that includes the time it took me to send a complaint! The page took forever to load, let me scroll up/down, kept locking up, etc.. I ran a check on my computer, no viruses detected.

She can deny she's the woman with the wild past all she wants, unless they can prove she has an evil twin it's her. They should've fingerprinted her in Britain, in Utah, and get a fingerprint from her now and see if they match up.

As for the pups, Dolly the sheep was cloned from the cells of a 6 year old sheep; she was only a few years old when she started getting arthritis, and was put down when she was 8, I think. Sheep normally live to be about 20, so she went very young. Booger's age when he was picked up off the street wasn't given, but if she had him 12 years, those pups are not going to have a long life. And it wouldn't surprise me if they got cancer like Booger did, especially at a young age.

And yeah, I understand this lady--I use that term loosely--is hoping a studio will be interested in making a movie out of her story. Look out, Plan 9 From Outer Space! Your spot as the worst movie ever made is in danger if that movie ever does get made!
