Cast Members:
* Those that relay guests information about other departments that is incorrect leading the guests to believe what they want to hear (they never seem to believe the cast member that's in the department they are dealing with).

* Those with one dimensional conversation about work outside of work. It's ok to share a funny or frustrating story about work every once in awhile, but I know someone who ONLY talks about Disney. I try and change the subject and she always reverts back to Disney somehow. I can see the frustration in her husband's face!

* Those that don't warn the guests that are looking for something that they have not booked ahead of time of the possibility of there being a lack of availability.

* Those that believe what the guests have told them that another department has said to them, which is usually the opposite (where's the camaraderie?) Guests will tell you anything to get their way.

* Newer CMs that forget about the C in the service model which is to create service solutions. If you don't know the answer then find someone who does. I was in the park one day and the most popular response I received throughout the day was "I don't know I haven't worked here that long!" This wasn't just one department either. This theme seemed to transcend many different departments. They were basic questions like who is your manager today or where is the next penny press?

* Those that interrupt when something he or she has asked about is being explained.

Guests:

* They are so damn presumptuous. 9 times out of 10 their assumption is incorrect.

* They have no respect for us at all. Interrupting being their most common trait.

* They only believe what they want and not the most informed person that is explaining the situation

* Duh...yes of course, common sense and logic completely escapes them, which of course is a common theme in these forums.

* Laziness. They complain so much about having to walk anywhere. Since when did exercise become a bad thing? Perish the thought your fat ass burns a calorie!

* Bi-Polar tendencies...They are nice one second then as soon as they hear something they don't want they morph into Mr. Hyde and you are now the bad person subject to a guest complaint, as if it is your fault they waited till the last minute for something!

* Passholders: While we as a company appreciate the fact that they spend money at the park throughout the year. They need to understand they have the same priority as everyone else. We must be fair to all groups because there will always be another group that believes they deserve more priority for something (i.e. cast members, vacation club, celebrities, family members of Walt, Hotel Guests, etc.)

* Know-it-alls: Often times Cast Members are guilty of this trait as well... spewing verbal garbage characterized by misinformation or partial truths simply for the sake of the pride of knowing something trivial...big deal!

* Slackers: Those last minute people (especially Southern Californians) that wait till the very last minute to ask for or book something and are surprised or pissed off that they can't get what they want. First timers are horrible. They think they are the only ones dropping a couple grand on this vacation...hello there are 50,000+ doing the same thing. Learn from your mistakes and plan a better trip next time!

* Selective listeners: Those that only listen to part of what we say. We are providing you with information because it is important, not because we want to hear ourselves talk

* Assumers: Those who answer our questions how they think we want them answered versus what we are looking for (i.e. If I ask how many are in your party don't tell me two adults two children. Just say 4!). Your additional information merely makes our exchange longer than it needs to be. I shouldn't have to use social engineering to achieve my desired response! Or those who assume things are exactly like they have been in the past. The assumptions are endless...Just stop. Around here the only constant is change!

* Those who don't believe us when we tell them something (i.e. the Blue Bayou is fully booked) What would be our motivation to lie to you or not give you what you want?

* Those that don't allow us to offer alternatives when what you want can't be achieved and then bad mouthing us and the company.

I could go on, but I have work to do!

Thanks,
As a former (hate to admit it :rolleyes :) SG, I appreciate the heads up
on how I can be a better guest.
Our coming to this website has certainly been an eye opener.
Now our pet peeve is; adults who think that they have exclusive rights to all the fun Disneyland has to offer (such as jumping in front of children who have been waiting for the parade or stepping in front of them when they are trying to purchase a item)all because they are bigger?

Bullies are bad but they win every time it seems.

I was in an ice cream shop and I knew exactly what I wanted. It took this dude 5 minutes to finally get an order placed.

I hate leaving friends.

I hate when people get a free sample then make it into an event equal to a wine tasting contest. Like the person giving the sample cares that you like it or not. They are getting paid and that is all they care about. At the ice cream store you wait as they sample every flavour. In the grocery store you wait in line for a sample and it is "Nice flavour, full body, smooth, just the right amount of salt, does this have tarragon?" It is beef jerky so please do not give a detailed report on it. Watch me. Thank you, chomp chew slurp chew chew. All done as I walk away from the sampler.

People who leave their kleenix on a public area. I do not want your snotty tissue setting on my box of cookies. Do we have to see your tissue on the floor?

It's okay to say I don't know but, it should be followed with, "I will find out." When I was teaching and selling it was a more than acceptable response to questions.

My pet peeves are

1. This is what really gets under my skin real fast!!!!!! these stupid illiterate jackasses who just have to bring big groups of 50 to 100 of their redneck friends into the single riders line thinking they are going to ride together and just crowd the line for no good reason. however at the mummy Some other guest did my talking for me. " get these f'n cunts out of here!!" Nowadays they just kick the group back to the start of the regular line thus doubling their waiting time. ha ha sucks to be u!!!

2 these idiots who slip under the ropes and cut in line. Id love nothing better than to take these rude creeps and just throw them over the side for a nice 12 ft fall and hope they get their neck broke. But i wont stoop to their level of stupidity. Some kid cut in front of me on a bad day and i said to him you trying to cut me in line kid? in a real low and angry tone and he got behind me to his proper place real quick

Well thats my 2 cents

Big Peeve

It is 40 mph and the dude is doing 35 mph but I stay behind him as I near my turn. At the green light the dude slows to 30 then bottoms out at 26 mph. LIGHT IS GREEN, GO GO GO. He then goes through the light and about 20 feet beyond the crosswalk before he slowly starts to get back to 35 mph. It does not matter that there are 10 cars behind him who could get stuck in the light.

Minor Peeve

People who screech to a stop at a yellow light. I have strong legs when it comes to braking a car. They seem to not understand that the people behind them rather go through the light. They also do not understand that the bus or truck behind them cannot stop on a dime. I used to drive sweeper trucks that were loaded and would have to be careful of people as there was no stopping the truck.

tonight I told the burger stand person, no peppers but now my house wreaks of them, ew. I guess she did not understand no, lol.

Hmm, At DLR and WDW I will agree with the line cutters, that is irratating.

Other pet peeves:

Freeway drivers so engaged in their music or phone conversation they don't pay attention to traffic around them. (saw an emergency vehicle with light/sirens come right up on the bumper of a guy, and he SLOWLY got out of the way. If HIS house was on fire he would probably be screaming for all he was worth)

People who Don't follow the rules, then get upset when caught! (sort of in-line with the line cutters)

People that think going on vacation to DLR or WDW is not for adults.

(new one) People who abandon their pets after their house has been foreclosed. (i saw a story on this, seems a lot leave them to die in their abandond houses!)

oh, one more....BAD Coffee!!

(and NO RUM!!!)

hehehehe

I have had something like this happen twice in my Firefighting career. Once I was responding to a structure fire, I was stopped by a state trooper, He came up to my truck and used the line "wheres the fire" Well, I told him and he looked visably disturbed, He asked again, I gave the same answer and at that time one of the first due trucks showed up at the scene and radioed a report. He heard the radio and just said follow me, It's my house!

The second time, I was driving one of our Brushbreakers to a brush fire and was cut off by a car which happened to be a neighbor. Well just about that time we got redirected back to our end of town to respond to a structure fire, Yes, It was my neighbors house.

People who panic for no reason while in my car. I was driving home from some event and was headed west on the 91 freeway with a fully loaded 4 door car. This dude screamed at the top of his lungs that we are about to die. In the road was a suitcase in the right half of the lane so I swerved left and no problems. My other option would have been to straddle it and risk ripping out the oil pan. No way were we in danger but for a second that scream got to me.

Why do people have to bring up ride safety at parks? I am talking about the ones that scare people like did you know someone got hurt on this ride or that a dude lost part of his finger on this ride. On the Tower of Terror a joke about how safe the elevator is would be fine but please dont scare people about how safe things are.

Top peeve is baby diapers being dumped anywhere but a trash can.

There's something very Zen about that situation.
