WDW CM's I need your help
OK...here is the scenerio. A friend from evil board x is getting married and I (dumb shit that I am) decided that since a group of us were all going to WDW at the same time what fun it would be to have a sort of engagement party at the MK. I am doing a simple scavenger hunt, we will do a group photo, ride something together, etc. Now this is only going to be for a little over 2 hours and nothing fancy, but I have a few questions. The date is Sept. 7th for this.
1. Should I contact Disney and let them know we will be converging on the park enmasse (approx. 25 bodies)?
2. Who should I contact about this?
And the big question..............
Donnie and I will be arriving early in the afternoon and the get together isnt until evening. Everyone has contributed some item (small ones mostly) toward a sort of favor bag. Think gallon ziploc size. I also have these adorable headbands the one lady made, some folders with paper info, loads of mardi gras beads for a game and cute little bags to collect the scavenger hunt stuff in. All which of course I am transporting down since we are the only ones driving to FL. There are 20 of each of those. Problem is....
3. How on earth do I get all this stuff past security easily?
I know I can rent a locker (probably have to do 2 ..$$$$$$$$) to put it in but I reallllly dont want to tie up the lines at the check in with tons of stuff for them to look thru.
Is there a way around this without pissing other people in line off? HELP!
Thanks for any advice or ideas you guys.

Well, the locker thing is easy, so let's get it out of the way. Get my help and only pay a deposit that you'll get back at the end of the day.vixen101485 wrote:OK...here is the scenerio. To get your non-dangerous stuff past security, take it in a large backpack. They'll still search it (and they seem to be getting more thorough lately, but that's not a problem for you with the stuff you're bringing), and let you through.
I would call Disney about the hunt... you never know, they might even help you and add some magic.
There are my thoughts.

At the MK, 25 people doesn't qualify as a "masse". Just come on down and party.vixen101485 wrote:A friend ... is getting married and I ... decided ... what fun it would be to have a ... simple scavenger hunt [at MK].... You might want to check with the PhotoPass gang and arrange a time and place where they'll meet you with a camera. This gets all of your friends in the shot, everyone who wants a print can buy their own, and you don't have to keep track of it all.2. Who should I contact about this?
Open the bag and let them look. And the big question.... Donnie and I will be arriving early in the afternoon and the get together isn't until evening. No, seriously, so long as there's no food, alcohol, or weapons, there shouldn't be a problem with this sort of thing. It's done more often than you might expect. Tell security you're in charge of swag for a little pre-wedding get-together and you're likely to be waved through.
Just don't wrap the stuff. If you need that, put the items in small gift bags to hid it, leave them open until you get inside the park, then use your Red Swingline stapler to close up the bags.
Lockers at MK are $5 (plus a $5 key deposit). Invite a cast member to join your soiree and get a $5 discount!I know I can rent a locker (probably have to do 2 ..$$$$$$$$)...
Hey, it's their fault for picking the line with you in it.... but I reallllly don't want to tie up the lines at the check in with tons of stuff for them to look thru.
You mean, not getting your bags checked? Ah, the answer to that would be either "no" or "hell no", depending. Is there a way around this without pissing other people in line off?
And no, a cast member can't sneak it in the back for you--we get our bags checked too.
Have a great time, and if you find yourself a bit short on swag for some reason, let me know. I've a big box of cheap stuff here just waiting for a party. Thanks for any advice or ideas you guys.

Well, we wont be chanting or waving flags so I think we will be ok then.Zazu wrote:At the MK, 25 people doesn't qualify as a "masse". Just come on down and party.
Good Idea...who do I call for that? I have to do it ahead of time since it is our first day there.Zazu wrote:You might want to check with the PhotoPass gang and arrange a time and place where they'll meet you with a camera. I was thinking about saying something like that.Zazu wrote:Open the bag and let them look.

SOOOOO WHO IS COMING ALONG? PM me if you want to join us. I will send you an actual invite via snail mail that tells where everything is and when.Zazu wrote:Lockers at MK are $5 (plus a $5 key deposit). Invite a cast member to join your soiree and get a $5 discount!
LMAO!Zazu wrote:Hey, it's their fault for picking the line with you in it.
NO NO, I wasnt asking that...I dont have a problem getting them checked, it is just so much stuff I dont want to cause a problem. I always get the guard who wants me to empty the whole bag out...good lord, it is change of clothes for Meghyn and other kid stuff and in a clear see thru bag for god's sake.!Zazu wrote:You mean, not getting your bags checked? Feel free to add to the mix. I am going to pack away the bags within a weekish. I want it all done so I can actually relax before going on vacation. I'm willing to be there, especially with my customized ECV.
And besides the no alcohol rule, there is also a no glass container rule.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.
