Hilarious!

I love those trouble-making chipmunks. I've seen them cause some kind of trouble a number of times, especially Chip.

When I met them a while back Chip signed my book then set the pen on Dale's nose and Dale had trouble finding it.

One time I was working the back Photopass counter in Exposition Hall (boring as all get out, especially when it is slow) when they came in from outside. One of them (IIRC Chip) started zig-zaging through the ropes set up for the private princess meet-and-greet area by undoing the rope, going through, putting the rope back, and doing it again at the next stantion. Well, the end stantion has a lose top and when he put the rope back on it it fell to the ground. He looked shocked and didn't know what to do. The attendant got onto him a little bit and fixed it for him.

Just the other day I was working in the Firehouse when Chip & Dale went off set through the gate beside it. There's a door to the shop right by that gate we keep open for air but for safety there's a rope across it so guests don't go out that way (it is the gate the Main Street vehicles use). There's a magnet in the rope so it is easy to take down (say in an emergency) and while going by Chip intentionally knocked it down (easy to do anyway). He looked shocked then ran through the gate. I hollered after him ("Chip, you trouble maker!" or something to that effect) while Dale stood there signaling it was Chip, not him. I told him I knew and hollered after Chip again.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

On one of our trips last year to DLR, Abby had not warmed up to the characters yet. Chip and Dale sensed caught on quick and just played close enough with her so she didn't get scared. This was at the Plaza Inn. Chip was taking trays, putting them between two doors and then hitting them so they would shoot out. He then decided to go outside and knock on the window and play with my daughter. It was so cute and she had so much fun with them without having to get close. I think Chip and Dales friends must have the most fun.

Stop me if I've posted this here before ... if you dare!

One of my favorite places to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade at MK was behind City Hall in the step-off area. Techs were always going through the floats and characters, checking for dead lights and replacing them, and they were always happy to have one more set of eyes helping. The characters' costumes also have lights, so we'd help check them as well.

One night I was doing this as we waited for parade time. In this show, Chip and Dale were in the first unit (the Blue Fairy) along with a semi-random assortment of other characters. As I checked their lights, I observed how sad it was. They looked confused.

"Here you two are, the biggest names in Chipmunkdom, and you have such modest costumes." They were just vests with a row of white lights around the hem and a big "C" or "D" on the back. "You two deserve much more elaborate costumes! At the least these whites should flash, say like running chase lights."

Well, that was all it took to set them off. They looked at each other, nodded, then ran in a circle around the Blue Fairy, and when they got back to me they stopped and flipped open the front of their vests. Yes, the Munks flashed me!

Oh, but that wasn't enough! They then proceeded to run around and flash all of the other characters in the unit. Tigger started bouncing, Gepetto just sat down on the curb and held his head in his hands, the Blue Fairy declared that it was making her just a bit dizzy, and the Parade Coordinator -- one of the biggest flamers in the department (which is saying a lot) -- put his hands on his hips and complained, "You just *had* to get them started, didn't you?"

I was beginning to worry a bit myself when the parade music started, but need not have. The Munks, true professionals that they are, linked arms and stepped off just as they should as the gates opened. The PC and I were just heaving a sigh of relief when they broke ranks, ran over to the crowd at the side of the parade route, and flashed the guests. Then they ran over to the other side of the street and flashed *those* guests.

I couldn't see much more from where I stood, but you rather got the impression that they fully intended to flash the entire length of the parade route that night.

It's true. Those rodents can be quite incorrigible!
