Theme Park Admissions Price Hike!
Disney announced Friday that admission prices would go up TODAY! Yikes!
Click on this link and then read the comments following it. Someone suggests, tongue in cheek, "Maybe they are going to give the employees a raise." Yeah, right!

Dang, they better! Or as we used to say at Knott's, they should give you hazardous duty pay for having to deal with SGs!

We are not holding our breath. Disney always cries poor mouth at the contract negotiations.
In fact, the STCU just signed a 3 year deal. You won't see anybody going back for more.
Not only did admission go up by an average of 5.5% parking went up another buck to $12 a day. We will be seeing more guests trying to park at Downtown for free and ride the bus.

Parking went up again?! God, $11.00 was to expensive!
I heard the reason why the admission prices went up is due to rising fuel costs and to avoid cutting routes they had to raise prices but won't raising parking rates counteract the extra money coming in from admission since more people will be using the buses instead of driving?

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Parking is 13 here. And Downtown Disney is not free parking. You can park for free for a couple of hours, but not like an all day thing to do the parks.

At DLR they just raised parking to $12 a couple months ago. Did they raise the price again just recently to $13?
The way attendance has been at DLR I was really expecting them to LOWER the price for a couple months. I was shocked that they raised the ticket prices not even a year between the last time. Last time it was early September. I remember. I was selling tickets at that time and had to pretend to shocked guests that $66 was nothing. Don't get me wrong, I think the price of a ticket at DLR is a good deal when you compare other parks in the area. No other theme park compares to DLR, and everybody knows it, but $69. Wow.

All day parking at 11, 12 or 13 dollars a day is a GOOD deal!
They had an announcement here in San Diego on the local news, don't think its that big of deal.
The previous day they had a news story about taking a vacation with a one day or less driving distance, and of course DLR was one of the destinations.
Maybe the price increase will outrage some SG's to stay away?
(probably not!)
It would be nice to see if they gave the CM's a raise, but it dosn't sound like it!

That's why I always tell people who ask for Disneyland advice, the worst thing to do is walk up to the ticket booth and buy a one-day ticket. Especially since Safeway sells discounted tickets (not by much but it does help), and AAA, many travel agencies, and even Alaska Airlines offer some good deals when packaged with airfare and/or hotel. Sometimes even going on DLR/WDW's official website can get you a promotional rate that they wouldn't advertise if you walked up to the ticket booth.Terrytunes wrote:The way attendance has been at DLR I was really expecting them to LOWER the price for a couple months. I could be wrong, I thought it said 13 the last time I went, of course I don't pay for parking so I don't really pay that much attentionTerrytunes wrote:At DLR they just raised parking to $12 a couple months ago. Did they raise the price again just recently to $13?

Parking at DLR was $12 when I went on July 20, it probably went up Sunday as well.
