They don't care about the weather down here at all for fireworks do they?

We don't get the same kind of winds they do in Anaheim which prevent the launching of the fireworks.

That, and WDW, for the most part, is not surrounded by residential neighbourhoods, many of which have residents who would be quite angry if their houses were burned to the ground by a wayword pyro shell.

Very true, also we don't have the Santa Ana's that come whipping through to start fires. We get more rain and are surrounded by less residential areas. However they will cancel fireworks for intense lightning and VERY high winds.

During the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour I took at Disneyland, the CM guide explained that even though the flags and trees appear to be barely moving, it often signals winds higher up that are too strong for fireworks. As was mentioned above, Disneyland being smack in the center of neighborhoods and businesses often makes it too risky for fireworks.

Having seen the fireworks show a few times during the actual 50th celebration, what they are showing now is definitely a scaled-down version. There are a few projections on the castle, but nothing like what was shown during the 50th.

Aw, well. I'll just make sure that Jack and I go during Christmas time then. At least it'll be different. ;)

Not that I don't enjoy the show that runs now, but I was hoping that there would be something new since it's 2 years of a million dreams or some rot like that.

None of the times I've worked nights (which is a good bit) have the fireworks been canceled or even changed. I used to live close enough to the park to hear the fireworks thudding in the distance and no night when I was home did I NOT hear them go off and I'm pretty sure I would have noticed them not going off. I knew it was 10:00 because I'd hear them. They are so precise with Wishes you could almost set your watch by the show.

About all that will cancel the fireworks here (AFAIK) is a lot of lightning and I'm betting that's so guests aren't standing out in a storm to watch them and not to do with the fireworks themselves. The lightning is nearly always long gone by 10:00 so doesn't affect the show.

I have never seen them canceled but have seen them delayed.

The first P&PP this spring had the torrential downpour and Magic, Music and Mayhem was about 45 minutes late going off.

It's safer to launch them than it is to unload wet launchers. Fireworks become unstable when wet.

I would not have seen the fireworks, but I would have seen all the SG's complaining on how we ruined their vacations!
