Hope everyone is ok!

Watching KABC online right now...they're saying no significant damage in the Chino Hills area where the epicenter was but they're doing all the necessary things like moving fire trucks outside, checking railroad tracks, etc.

KABC just read an official statement from DLR. They evacuated all attractions and are testing everything for safe operation before re-opening.

I'm at work at a newspaper and everyone is keeping a real close eye on the LA earthquake today.
What was it like?

My brother called, he is in Rosemead. He was laughing and said "dude, I just experienced my first earthquake!"

I was streaming in CNN, and a reporter was at DLR with his family when it hit. He called in, and described how his young son was next in line for astro blasters when the quake hit!

He did say that the CM's immediately shut down the rides and directed guests away from them so that they could inspect them.

Sounded like he was praising them for a quick and efficent response!

Way to go All you CM's on duty!!

And the first SGTs are starting to trickle in from this event.

According to Board X, apparently the line at City Hall stretches all the way back to Candy Palace. For those of you who have never visited Disneyland Park, that means it's somewhere between 2/3rds and 3/4ths of the way up Main Street USA.

Once again, those of you working City Hall today, we salute you. May whatever higher power you believe in have mercy on you :p: .

I was in Santa Ana walking my sister's dog at the time, I didn't really feel anything much, saw and heard more. Saw some of the windows of some apartments I was passing bow out then snap back. My sister's dog was too busy sniffing around, but the dogs in the neighborhood started barking. My BIL was in the front yard doing yardwork, I thought it was something having to do with nearby construction so I asked him if he felt any shaking five minutes ago, he said yes, he felt the earthquake. Mom was in the house scared half to death; we went through the Northridge event, only a 20 minute drive from the epicenter then, and that didn't scare her as much as this. My nephew was all excited, called my sister at work in Orange, she barely felt it in the tall building she works in. Mom's getting really sick of hearing all the news on T.V. about it.

A cyberfriend of mine who's visiting from Australia was with another of my cyberfriends, and they were in CA Adventure watching a movie when it hit. They said the movie was stopped, and they were asked to go outside. Since the lady who's hosting the Aussie lady lives 5 miles from the epicenter, they went home and checked everything; they will return this afternoon--may even be there as I write.

I went to the USGS site to give my report of the quake on their "Did you feel it?" survey; others who felt it may wish to do the same. I go to http://pasadena.wr.usgs.gov/step/ , click on earthquake center, then the CA/NV page, then click on the big blue square marking the quake. It would've been red, but that marks quakes up to an hour old; it'll stay blue until 24 hours after the quake, when it turns yellow, and after a week it'll disappear from the map. But right now it's a large square on the California map; can't miss it. Click on it, go down to where it says "Did You Feel It?" and fill out the survey.
