SG's are everywhere.....

Post by Canuikstan » Sun Jul 27, 2008 8:49 pm

So Gruvgrl and I (along with Kidlet 1 and Kidlet 2) went to the local Amusement park to day (as practice for the upcoming trip.. long lines ups, crowds and of course, SG's everywhere)

1) A family at the water park, who's clothing was filthy.. not dirty, but grass, dirt, food stains all over their swimming gear.. at 11;00 am... (shudder).. they went into the pools with that ... i hope the chlorine was extra strong today..

2) On a Mountain train ride, with an elevated loading platform (about 30 feet up) a child who looked to be about 6 years old, was on the other side of a safety rail, climbing on the fake mountain... while parents stood around and laughed.. (and oddly enough, no cast members around).. Now this ride goes through the loading platform 2 times.. (once at load and then it "thunders past' the waiting guests for a second run... If it had startled the child, she could have had a LONG HARD FALL, and then of course parents wouldn't be laughing...

3)Not at the park, but afterward, we were at a local Big Box store, that rhymes with BALL-WART, and as it is a Sunday Evening, it was rather empty of customers. As I am walking down a really wide long aisle, a child about 10-12 years smacks into me as he WHIZZES down the aisle on a scooter. I gave him a dirty look, looked around..and saw no parents.. as I am looking around.. WHAM the shopping cart i am pushing slams into me knocking the wind out of me, and actually REALLY HURTING A LOT..

And there is the same kid.. sees this time, instead of smacking me, he decided to bowl me over..

Now i am not a big man by any means.. and i am generally cool to some innocent fun, but this just enraged me.

The kid tossed the scooter a clothing rack and just stared at me with his mouth open...until I grabbed a staff member and demanded something be done.. and this just made it worse.. the staff member who was no less then 10 feet away, from me when i got knocked over, asked what was up, and when i pointed the kid out to him, he actually denied seeing him... "Which kid? Where?" Until he realized i want going to walk away.. and then all he got was a safety manager to move the scooter back to the toy section. By this time the kids parents had showed up and while they didn't say anything, not even a sorry, i could tell by the look in the fathers eyes that he was soon to have one less child to feed..

grrr... hopefully i can get it all out before we leave!!! sorry just venting...

I fail to see any reason for you to be sorry. Now, fix that remark. Venting is good for you.

you know, that incident at Wally World should be on videotape....
Tell the manager you want to sit down and review it with him or her so you can show them what happened....
I know they won't show it to you, but maybe it will get the manager to review it and get their employees more proactive on the brats running around

Yes they are!

Yesterday, DW and I were on the patio, planking some salmon. While waiting we were talking and she told me this story;

She was telling me that she was at Michael's getting some supplies, and the lady in front of her was arguing with the clerk. They lady had the WRONG discount cupon, and that one she did have ONLY expired four days ago!!

The clerk was trying to be helpful, but kept telling the lady that she couldnt use the cupon because the code wouldn't work in the register. (I assume that have it entered when you scan it, and it takes whatever deduction the cupon is good for)

When DW finally got checked out, the lady was two registers down arguing with the manager!

I guess SG's can't read expiration dates!

To be fair to the SG (not that they deserve fairness), some stores like Bed, Bath and Beyond and some big grocery chains accept expired coupons. I don't think I've used a current coupon for BB&B in years because I just grab one of the oldies stuffed in my coupon drawer. Still, if they ever changed their policy I wouldn't argue about it because technically the coupon is indeed expired and they are under no obligation to honor it.

Hmm...our bed bath and beyond doesn't accept expired ones. Not a huge problem though, we just sort through the stack every so often to see which ones are still good. If you keep the stack in order, you only need to throw away the top few every couple of months! :p: (BB&B sends out a lot of coupons...not that I'm complaining. I like 20% off as much as the next guy.) :D:

Bummer for you! Here in Central FL, BB&B is very liberal. Not only will they accept expired coupons but they will also let you use multiple of the $10 off or whatever it is for one item. I've offered to split the order between hubby and I to use two, and they just ring 'em up together and let us use both.

BBB is great with their coupons here in Orlando. Not only did I get a 50% off a marked down bedding set on clearance price, I got 20% off that as well!

21 bucks for an originally $119 comforter set ... pretty cool eh?

I remember one time going into a grocery store during October or November and wanted to use a coupon that had a September 31 expiration date. I told them that according to the calendar September 31 had not yet arrived this year.

I was very polite about it; the manager agreed with me and allowed me to use the coupon.
