I was at Rancho Del Zocalo today for a shift and manned the salad station with someone else. A guest with her plate of tamales (If I remember right) came up to the salad station and grabbed a handful of red tortillas to decorate her plate. The guy I was with says,"Uhm no, those are for our salads!" I repeated it in Spanish and then said in the same language,"Give me the tortillas." She started to try to put the red tortillas Back in with the untouched ones, but I had my hands out for them over the tortilla containers.
This salad that has red tortillas also has blue and green tortilla chips and a pepino dressing- a little spicy but not much. It also has chicken and radish pieces and jicama for crunch, as well as the three colors in the form of tortilla strips on top of the salad too.
Neither the guy I was with nor I had ever seen anyone do such a thing as that happen before.
Also, Ms. Matterhorn came up long after the SGT had left, and gave me a drink napkin, a napkin for one's lap, and a drink stirrer marked with Club 33. She asked if I remembered her, and I said I remembered her.
I shoulda asked, if she had "White Zin" with her Club 33 lunch *Forgot that question until now, My bad.* Heehee. :D

Oh how I "love" working at Rancho ;) . So much so that the mere sight of "RDZ" on the schedule has me lunging for the Shift Change forms, lol.Purpura wrote:I was at Rancho Del Zocalo today for a shift and manned the salad station with someone else. Moving on, we have SGs try that in my area all the time. Wait until the CM isn't looking, and then grab the ladle and scoop up their own food. It's really annoying, because we end up having to take ALL the ladles to the back and washing them, just in case they've also helped themselves to other things.
Sad thing is, if they were to just ask, we could probably get them cups of whatever they wanted. If it were a buffet, there wouldn't be a CM standing behind the counter, for goodness' sake.
I'm jealous :) . I wish I had guests coming up to me and giving me Club 33 stuff, lol. Alas, I'll have to settle for looking at the costumes backstage.Purpura wrote:Also, Ms. Matterhorn came up long after the SGT had left, and gave me a drink napkin, a napkin for one's lap, and a drink stirrer marked with Club 33. Re: Rancho Del Zocalo SG and a SGT Sighting
I have a bunch of Club 33 napkins, If I remember, I will bring you some next trip. I just have to remember where I packed them ;) The mind is not as good as it used to be! I will try to find some and set them in the box we use to keep all our DL trip stuff like lanyards, pins and luggage tags, the little stuff I have no where else to put or I would forget where I put it! I'll put the Club 33 napkins there, when I find them...

No, I had champagne (it's free, you have to pay for the white zin)! It was fun seeing you Purpie! And the big napkin was a paper towel from the restroom, they have cloth napkins on the table. Photos to follow!Purpura wrote:I was at Rancho Del Zocalo today for a shift and manned the salad station with someone else. The dessert table is dangerous.
