This is probably one of the most out-there questions ever asked. Heck, call it an SCMT if you want, but I just came across some stuff that just screams opportunity, eh?
Anyways, I was just reading over some stuff I've found in various places and, as I understand it, WDWs CTs system operates very differently then DLR, we require our CTs to be Fully available for our peak seasons (Spring Break, Summer, Thanksgiving, and Christmas/New Year).
However, as I understand it, WDW apparently only requires its' CTs to be available for training; and then only mandates that the work a certain number of days per year, varying based upon the role.
This is very interesting. As you might know, I've had somewhat of an interest in moving over to Florida sometime in the near future. However, until that can come to pass, this might be an interesting alternative. I could theoretically obtain a CT role at WDW, and then take vacations from the DLR during our off-season and pick up shifts over there. Make it a work-cation, lol.
I just wanted to see if my understanding of the CT season over there was correct, and if this was possible. Is it a pipe dream? Of course it is, lol :D: . But is this not the Year of a Million Dreams, after all :p: ?

Re: WDW CT Status Question
You're right about our system. You need to work at least seven days per year to maintain CT status. If you're in certain roles though, you may have to work something like once every six months to keep up your proficiency, but even if you let that run out, you just have to re-assess before you can work again.
I have heard, however, that you can't work at both parks. At least you couldn't a few years ago. I know my friend who's currently in Entertainment at DLR just got accepted into the WDWCP, and he gets to keep his seniority. But I also was told last year that if I wanted to work on the Disney Cruise Line, I would have to quit at WDW. One of many reasons I decided not to.
I think a lot of those rules are changing now that all the Disney resorts are under the "Disney Parks & Resorts" label, rather than each being such separate entities.
But yes, you can only work seven days a year and still get all the benefits of being a Cast Member, minus getting your one year pin. I've always been sad that I've worked for Disney since 2004, but don't get anything to show for it besides being able to outbid full timers and getting 35% off rather than 20%. I'm moving down in August for good, and my mom is going to come visit for a couple weeks and I've got her talking into applying to work seasonally. :-)

Re: WDW CT Status Question
In buses, you need to work 2 days a month as a CT. But that does seem to be dependent on who you know as I know some bus CT's who work 1 day every couple of months.
