Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

But if the swim team used a water-soluble lubricant...DisneyMom wrote:Use a water-soluble lubricant!![]()
...wouldn't it all wash off the moment they hit the pool?

One additional way to reduce your resistance on the slides is to arch your back... The trick is to limit the amount of body touching the slide. Less contact, less friction. So, you arch your back so that your weight is supported entirely by your shoulders and heels. (This is obivously easiest on the speed slides where you've crossed your arms and legs)
(Hmmm... Thongs, lube and an arched back... This thread HAS taken quite the veer off-course...) ;)

What scientists? Do you have a cite? ("The Time Machine" doesn't count.) No social scientist I know would ever say such a thing.markstudy wrote:
On a side note-
Scientist actually think that human beings will split into two genetically separate sub-species in the future.... because the
"college educated" and the "high school drop-out" classes are moving so far away from each other, that the two groups may not mix gene pools in the future. (now that's some scary stuff). Seems silly but, just that fact that this theory has been raised in a serious scientific debate is almost surreal
I don't mean to pick on you, but the wide misapprehension of science is one of my pet peeves.

Yes, you are correct. I alway do that and try to tell others about it as well, but they aren't as interested.. Maybe because a hairless, greased up guy is telling them this..Rob562 wrote:One additional way to reduce your resistance on the slides is to arch your back...
