Selling fastpasses on ebay
Disney has been looking into the idiots selling old fast passes on ebay, but it doesn't look like they can stop them from doing it..
As for anyone who buys them, looks like P.T. Barnum was right..

I like them for the artwork. each series is different. I have some of the 2005 50th FPs. I wish I had them all now.JugglingFreak wrote:Disney has been looking into the idiots selling old fast passes on ebay, but it doesn't look like they can stop them from doing it..

Re: Selling fastpasses on ebay
Great if you want to collect them, someday they might be like the old ticket books and worth something as a paper collectable, but these people are selliing them with the intention of the buyer using them as a fastpass and not waiting in standby lines. They dont sell the FP but an envelope and the FP's are a "gift". I would like to see Disney crack down on people for trying to use them. I know it says they are but are they really? I dont mind people using them after the time has passed, i do it myself, sometimes you just cant make it back during the one hour window, but weeks or months later isnt right. Maybe if some of the buyers spend a bunch of money on them and then cant use them and start wanting money back and leaving negative feedback it will stop since ebay wont do anything about it.

Personally I don't think selling these things on eBay is wrong or anything, it's not like you can use them, right? If you're a collector, it's a nice way to get ahold of some.
As for the people who scalp them inside the park? That's a whole 'nother story....

The problem is, people are selling them with the intention of the buyer using them, expired or not. They are actually marketing them with notations like "no cast member checks the date" or "no expiration date so you can use any time". People are mostly buying them to avoid waiting extra time or to have multiple fastpasses for multiple attractions, a clear violation of the fastpass system. Collectors are no problem. Dishonest buyers and the sellers who market to them are.

What is really bad, and when we see them we contact both eBay and Disney legal (). and report people who are selling Guest Assistance Cards as "Unlimited Fastpasses". Those of us with disabilities really jump down hard on these.

Yes good Ole PT was right. I read the article in this morning's paper. I have also seen forged FP's being attempted to use by some of these guests. The redesigned FP ticket is very hard to forge or duplicate. As for anyone who buys them, looks like P.T. Barnum was right..
The observant CM is trained to know the difference between the old and new style FP's. We weren't born yesterday and if a guest is gullible enough to fall for one of these scams, hopefully they eventually learn their lesson.
Buying out of date FP's? Hey, I got a bridge in Brooklyn for sale you might be interested in. :D:

Theoretically, Disney should be mad, considering:
1. The FPs in question are expired and sharp CMs should be able to catch a FP that's weeks/months/years old
2. FPs are now a part of Disney history. Collector's items, pretty much.

What got me was the comment from the one seller that did respond.
If Disney did not scam me every time then I wouldn't feel the need to make a few bucks.
If you feel that you are being scammed by Disney, DON'T GO.
