I have a really strange question...

Our house was burglarized today. (insert every curse word in every language you can think of)

Among other things, dammit, they stole our Disney APs and DDE card.

Any ideas on a) how to tell Disney to de-activate them, b) how to get new ones, or c) can Disney flag them as stolen and catch the stupid jerks?

They also got my camera with pictures of the last two weekends there, DH and I were having a mini-second-honeymoon for the last SWW, and last weekend with our girls.

For some strange reason, they also took the seat to my scooter (but not the rest of the scooter).

Evidently, no Disney for us till we get this taken care of. :(

I'm sure if you call WDW and explain the situation to them, they'll happily deactivate the stolen cards and send you new ones. I'm sure they can also flag the invalid ones and catch the thiefs if they try to use them.

Whoever stole them won't use them at the park. They'll sell them to some dope and use the money to buy dope. The best that'll happen is whoever uses them might get busted for possessing stolen property.

Keep an eye on craigslist for your stuff, around here several thieves have been busted trying to sell stolen property on CL, one guy found his golf clubs listed within hours or having them stolen at a local golf course, arranged to meet the guy at the same course and had PD waiting. Ebay might be another place to keep an eye on, being a photographer I often look at cameras on both sights and I never bother with posts that just offer a digital camera with none of the stuff that comes with it, makes me wonder where it came from if theres no cords or anything. If you do find one you suspect is yours notify the police and hopefully they will be willing to look into it for you. You might even get luck and find your pics are still on the flash card. (good way to identify it as yours if recovered)

I'm sure your not the first person to have an AP stolen, we took AAA for 40+ years and daily I had people tell me they didnt have their card because it was stolen. There are less WDW AP holders but I'm sure many are stolen on a regular basis so call Disney and they will guide you on what to do. Expect a fee to replace the AP's though, I believe its $20.00 to replace a DL AP so somewhere in that ballpark.

Sorry to hear this happened to you, with the economy the way it is we are going to see much more of this sort of thing. In Sacramento they steal just about anything thats not nailed down.

It's possible they may waive the replacement fee if you show them a police report that says the APs were stolen. I'm pretty sure that's the case with my baseball season tickets. Then again I was never a ticket seller/VP so I'm not sure. But it wouldn't hurt to ask. Good luck to you.

They may waive the fee due to theft and it wouldnt suprise me if they did since it is something beyond your control. I had my GF's son's AP replaced due to a misspelled name, (one letter too many, no big deal but he didnt like his name misspelled) we walked into the AP office so I could ask a question on another matter and also asked about a new card, they made the change and printed a new one on the spot so its not a big deal to print out a new one. I think the fee is there for the people that decied to leave it at home and figure they are just going to show up and they will let them in. AAA members were natorious for not having cards with them and my GF cant seem to keep track of her costco card and has had it replaced 4 or 5 times in the last year or so. After a while you have to do something about people taking up your time with this sort of thing.

Well, Disney will replace our cards, we just have to drive over and show our IDs, and the kids don't have to show anything, lol. No charge if we have the sheriff's report. They cancelled ours immediately, but they said they weren't able to flag them to try to catch the crooks. I had them in one of those rhinestone Mickey head retractible lanyards - I'll probably give anybody else I see in the parks with one a hairy eyeball to make sure it isn't mine, as I had put a red mini-bow on mine to make it a Minnie.

The sheriff's detective said it was probably kids, based on what was taken (small electronics, jewelry). He said that pros would have taken our DVDs, TVs, and my drugs (I have auto-immune arthritis, and have a stash, lol). Also by the size of the opening they jimmied in our window. Evidently, our so-called guard dog only guards the house when we're in it, or only against cats and the yard guy, or something like that. We've spent the day replacing locks, replacing screens and trying to inventory and clean both the mud the robbers tracked in AND the black dust from the crime scene people.

I'm trying to tell myself that we're insured for the electronics, but my great grandmother's jewelry wasn't expensive enough piece by piece to insure, but that and my anniversary ring and my Mickey nugget ring, and our Mickey and Minnie musical watches we got for our first anniversary... that really hurts to think I'll never see them again!

We're going to go this weekend (instead of to Epcot to hear the tribute band) and look through pawn shops - thanks for the idea of Craigs List, I hadn't thought about that. Already put a search on eBay, we'll see what happens, I'd really love to have those SWW pics back!

Wow, to think that we've reached the point where even children are going about vandalizing homes *sigh* :( .

At least they only got away with material goods. I hate to think what would have happened if you had been home while this was all transpiring .
