Oh Susi - no wonder you scared Stitch - that surgery does sound pretty rugged. However, those docs do it all the time and have had lots of practice. We'll all be keeping our fingers and toes crossed, and sending prayers your way, for a successful surgery and a quick and relatively pain-free recovery. Once everything heals I bet you will feel sooooo much better and able to get around again, maybe not like when you were a wild young thang, but better than now when you are in pain all the time.
We're looking forward to updates from Ralphie. I bet he is scared, too. Give him (and yourself) hugs from all of us. We love you!! Can't wait to see you back on SGT so you can tell us all about it.

I will have all the story ...later today or tomorrow. I am back home, I was in the hospital til Saturday, watched the firworks out the 8th floor window! Cool! All the while punching the button on my pain killer pump! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.... :dope: :whistlng: (I could not find a drugged out smiley on a drug pump so the pot one, will have to do...)
Thanks for the prayers and hugs, they worked..God guided my surgeons' hands and they are the best at what they do!

You'll do great. Think positive thoughts. Your body will do much better if you go in with a good attitude. Oh yeah, don't sneeze until they take the sutures out. :D:

A quick note to tell all of you that Princess Susi pulled through surgery and is now recovering. I'll let Ralphie tell you the details when he gets a chance, but from the report we got, the Surgeon was able to see the cause of a lot of pain and hopefully make a big difference! :)
I can't wait to see Susi at full speed with no ECV enjoying her favorite Disney Parks-Watch Out SG's! :twisted:
Of course, recovery takes time, so I want you all to cheer her on!!!!!!

I was thinking about her when I woke up this morning, hoping that surgery had gone well. Please pass on that we're thinking about her and pulling for her complete and speedy recovery. Somebody give Ralphie a hug, too. He's a gem! YAYYY Ralphie & SusiSlicker!

I talked on the phone to Susi and Ralphie today-
She has already got up out of bed to walk but no food yet and says she is starving-So hopefully tomorrow they will start her on Jello and maybe something soft the next day. Still lots of pain from incision and re-building/re-shaping the discs but hopefully it will improve daily. :)
Ralphie is busy getting things ready for Susi to come home, and she can't wait to get there! He says her Kittycats couldn't sleep last night because they knew something was not normal.
I will give her all your messages when I call her again- Ralph will get on line when he gets a chance-I imagine he needs to get some rest as well.
Hobie, I tried to tell her what you said but she said to not make her laugh, it hurts too much!

I was right. She is a tough old broad. She'll be hitting the par course in a week.

Princess Susi is getting out of the hospital today and feeling better :)
I think she will make a faster recovery with Ralphie, kitties and Wall-E toys to
help with Recovery. She said she couldn't wait to get back on SGT. too! :D:

Thank you so much for the update on Susie, Disneymom I've had her on my mind as I've been trying to help my poor husband dig out from the mess here. I'm pretty useless as far as helping though I just can't do it :( I felt pretty horrible about it and am so glad we're at the end of it now.

If you talk to Sus tell her that Bru is sending pixie dust thoughts her way for a super-quick recovery and miraculous success of the procedure!!!

THANK YOU everyone for your well wishes! And Thanks to Disneymom for keeping you up to date! Ralph had too much on his mind to post. Disneymom did a good job! I spoke with her when I was all drugged up in the hospital. I don't even know what I said to her! hahahahahahaha.... I am recovering nicely and in pain still, but I am up and around a bit a little each day. I am in a back brace and that helps to keep my back straight and secure.
I do need a shower like crazy. I am going to attempt one tomorrow morning. I am now allowed to shower, albeit, very quickly and I cannot soak the steri-strips that cover the incision. It is a pretty good sized incision! It is horizontal across my left abs, alas my poor 6 pack will be a 3 pack now, IF I can get rid of that pony keg I have had, with exercise once I heal! LOL!

The doc found a LOT more problems in my back then the MRI showed. I had a completely flattened disk with a crack all the way across it and it was completely dried out and broken. There were 2 nerves crushed under the debris of the disk. I had thought maybe there was one, but he found two nerves there. That is why the pain was so excruciating. There was so much damage that does not neccessarily show up on MRIs or XRays. He also had to file away some arthritis (bone spurs) in the area that were in the way as well. It took him longer on the surgery than he thought, but got everything done and I am on the mend. It should give me a LOT of relief, considering what they took out and moved and fixed. I am looking forward to walking EPCOT again next May 2009 as I did in 2006! That is a BIG Park and I loved walking around the whole thing and being able to make it that far! It will take some time for me to get up top speed, but I will!

There were also some VERY cute doctors (surgical interns) there at the hospital! :D: One in particular with his blue eyes and curly hair and nice white teeth in a big smile! He had to keep checking on my feet and if I could move them and had feeling in my toes and feet and legs. He had the cutest smile and called me *Mam*! UGH! I told him to call me Susi, but he said he was from Memphis and was so used to calling everyone Mam or Sir, that he could not promise not to call me Mam. heeheehee...He made me feel so old....Oh well, according to hobie, I AM a tough OLD broad! ;) I guess I am!
