Give it time, K's looked a little better for awhile, then it tumbled down the hole. They can't retain employees. Give it time. :)

The fireworks at Anaheim Stadium went off on schedule. It's only a few miles from DLR for those of you on the east coast.

"Excuse me, are those ducks real?"
"Yes, sir, but the water is fake."

I will say that I like WoF much better than Six Flags, and I think they have been owned by Cedar Fair for years. Our Six Flags is disgusting. I hated seeing all of the gum stuck to the queue lines (railings, structures, etc) when in line for rides like the Screaming Eagle. I don't remember much about the employees, but then, I haven't been there since 9th grade. I do remember the dirtiness of it though.

At WoF, the only truly bad department seems to be foods. We went into the Diner by Mamba last week, and there was only one other family in the restaurant, they were already sitting down and eating. As I went to find a table, I noticed that literally all of the booths were filthy dirty. Now, I would have given them the benefit of the doubt if:
1.) There was more than one other table in the restaurant at the time
2.) The workers were not standing around with their backs to the guests yacking away

I finally had to go and ask one of the workers to clean off the booths. She saw me standing near the one that I was planning to s it at and she asked me, "Is it this one?" I told her that it was all of them. How could she miss the crumbs the size of Texas and all the sauce drippings on the table? I have another friend who used to work there and she always tells people to bring food with them because she does not trust the food there.

Other than that the park seems well run. The lines are normally very short, and the go pretty quickly for the most part. If you stop and ask somebody a question they are normally very helpful. I just wish some of those teenagers would smile more or look like they are enjoying themselves.

The worst incident with a bad attitude was a girl at Timberwolf. I noticed the new lead saying, "Sit upright, hold on tight, the Timberwolf is about to bite," then howling. I've heard them howl, but I've never heard them say that before. I asked them how long they have been saying that and she told me forever. I said, "Really? This is the first time I've heard it." She then proceeded to say that they were only recently required to start howling and the she hats it. Ok, fair enough. You don't have to like every aspect of your job, but you also do not need to tell the guests that you hate your job.

I think they needed help with their income taxes.

We've owned WoF since 1995. I am one of those teenagers, but I have a good attitude. Which restaurant was this? Coasters Drive-in? Some are better than others. I've also seen a few rude ride ambassadors, even one who had a cussing fit (in front of small children!) because somebody vomitted. Yep, went straight to guest services.

I think we're forgetting two principle things when it comes to why Knott's did and Disneyland didn't have fireworks:

1. Location - Knott's is in Buena Park and Disneyland is in Anaheim. Each city has different rules when it comes to what type of fireworks can be fired when for how long and how high and during which conditions. If we assume that both parks have the same exact fireworks show at the same exact time with the same exact weather, (no offense to Buena Park, but) Buena Park might be a little bit more lax for a variety of reasons than Anaheim.

2. Type of fireworks show - I think that this has more weight in the arguement. I've never seen Knott's fireworks, but I know that Disneyland's show is a lot more than just a few explosions in the sky. DLR has flamethrowers, sparklers, and other pyrotechnics on the castle itself. The fireworks come in a lot lower than the average show, not to mention interactive (Tink's flyin' around in the middle). So chances of mishap are exponentially higher at DLR, granted that Knott's' aren't of the same caliber show.

On a related note, I live a good 30 minutes away from Disneyland, and every night, at 9:33pm, I hear explosions. I'm willing to bet it's the Haunted Mansion sequence. Is there anyone here to validate that?

1099. I wish CMs could throw a few punches back. Y'know, behind the scenes.

Legend: Alligators dwell in the sewers beneath Disneyland.

Truth: There are no sewers below Disneyland, and therefore no alligators in them. The secret tunnels are infested with mutant rats, however.

Oh, and I though we had it bad out in the Hub...

The line was that long? There was like no line (that I saw) when we were going home after putting everything away.

I actually tried to trade newbies for their 4th evening Hub GC shifts. Probably a few regret declining now.

Just curious GuestJockey, how many GR folks were staffed in City Hall during that lunacy? Do you have people to the side as well as the counters, a security bouncer, or just fill up the counter space as much as comfortably possible?
