Gosh, that's too bad. You're right, Pirate, one by one our childhood friends and heroes are biting the dust. So sad.

and I was too young to remember the first voices, like colvig and edwards.

Re: R.I.P. Bozo The Clown
Gosh, I finally got to see him without his clown makeup on!
They say the following incident was only on the Chicago version, but I was living in Ventura at the time, so somehow it got to the West Coast:
On Bozo's Circus, they had kids play games of skill in order to win prizes, which included being "Butch For A Day" as well as the much coveted Treasure Chest of Toys. One little boy had tried but failed to win the Treasure Chest, and was verbally expressing his disappointment in an inappropriate way. Bozo told him, "That's a Bozo no-no", and the kid replied, "Cram it, clown!" I happened to be out of the room at the time that aired, and when I returned, I asked my brother and sisters what was so funny, and they told me. Next day, some of us were going out somewhere, leaving a couple of family members to watch Bozo. My brother told one of my sisters, "Let us know if somebody else tells him to cram it."
I swear that one incident was instrumental for the popularity of the word "no-no"; before that I never heard it except when said to a baby or toddler. Afterwards, it entered the mainstream.

Having Bozo The Clown and Jesse Helms die on the same day may be proof that God does exist and has a sense of humor.
Namaste, O Great One. I honor the place where your sick sense of humor and my own become one.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

I remember that story going around when I was a kid! It must be true because that is the exact same story I heard about thirty (okay, forty) years ago! I believe Bozo at the time was played by Vance Colvig.felinefan wrote:

"Butch for a day"? Hmm, just one day?
"Excuse me, are those ducks real?"
"Yes, sir, but the water is fake."
