Decapitation at Six Flags Over Georgia

Post by dancinghomer » Sat Jun 28, 2008 4:39 pm

Just saw this on CNN. Police: Teen decapitated at theme park.

Group of kids jumped a fence into a restricted area to either retrieve a dropped item or to "touch" the ride.

Pulled up these pictures from the Roller coaster Database and I'm guessing they jumped the fence from the parking lot.

Light travels faster than sound. Perhaps that is why people appear bright until they open their mouth.

Pure stupidity. That's all I really have to say about this.

Darwin won this round. Of all the idiotic things SGs do that can get them killed, 99.999% of the time Darwin is thwarted because of aware employees or layers of safety systems such as sensors. But in that rare case: this happens.

The gene pool says, "Good riddance."

I smell the family suing the park because the park didn't "do enough" to prevent it from happening.

I say "Ditto".

The world does not need some people.

The news item I read stated that witnesses said he was trying to retrieve a hat he had lost while on the ride. He climbed over two 6-foot fences with warning signs saying Off Limits and Danger. It's so sad that many teenagers' brains are missing that little bit of grey matter that tells them they are not invincible. :(

They should've electrified the fences.

Another news item said he and some other kids got into that area because they thought it would be cool to grab at some friends' legs who were riding the coaster. That would make this an even bigger Darwinian cleansing than the hat thing if it's true.

And then the family will sue Six Flags for having deadly fences and need to pay for the numerous medical bills and pyschiatric help the kid will need now and for many years to come. The way it happened now was perfect, short and sweet, and probably made a big mess. That'll teach his friends to not be so stupid, hopefully.

One news report stated one of his friends was with him. It could have been a two-fer Darwin event.
