I know this is a response to an old post, but fortunately, we DO NOT give a full refund to pissed-off guests who want to return their AP because of the changes in the SAP system. We look up the usage, and subtract the price of a full-day ticket (1-park only, even if they hopped), and if there is any worth to the pass left, we refund it to them. As an exception. With manager approval. Just like all ticket media, AP's are NON-TRANSFERRABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE. And the people who are the most pissed off are the guests that have used their pass the most, of course. They don't seem to understand that coming four or five times a year uses up the value of the pass. I mean, it's pretty simple math: If you didn't have a pass, and you came four times, that would have cost you $199. ($49.75*4) And we wouldn't refund you for those times: you came and ENJOYED the park on those days. And if you don't enjoy yourself at Disneyland, then WHY DID YOU BUY A FREAKIN ANNUAL PASS????? :bang:

Good question. Synergy is a term that's almost unique to Disneyspeak]synergy[/color] is the benefit we get from marketing the same product in different media. An example would be Snow White the movie, Snow White the attraction, Snow White the coloring book, Snow White the pin, Snow White the frozen gooseberry pie, Snow White the princess dress, Snow White the flavored condom, etc. etc. While each product may or may not be profitable on it's own, the fact that each one promotes all of the others makes the entire set even more profitable. (Yes, I'm kidding about the condoms.)BohoRoohaha wrote:what is Synergy? i see that all over the cast portal what the hell is it?
The way it's currently practiced - that is to say it's impure form - synergy refers to recycling every possible piece of intellectual property. There's even a Corporate Manager of Synergy, who is just as stultifying in person as it sounds. This is what produces Lion King 1.5, Dumbo 2, Disneyland's Pooh 0.6, Mickey Mouse paper towels, Disney Princess pull-up training pants, etc. etc. (No, I'm not kidding about the training pants.)
So synergy ranges from a mutual bootstrap that allows each section of the Company to support every other, to bogus justification for inappropriate products.
Does that help?

I simply equate Disney synergy with symbiosis. Seems easiest for me to remember & explain to others. Well, there are those few who then ask me what symbiosis is/means. Can't edjekate all of the people all of the time, but we keep trying with new hires
