I don't have the e-mails, the computer's default is to erase them once they have been read, so I have no documentation unless the send some new ones.

I know this isn't a legal reason or anything, but with the price of gas, to let you come in and then not give you work is cruel. Please pursue it, and I hope the law is on your side.Princess Susi wrote:...and find out if they owe you for the hours when you punched in and then punched right back out. It is YOUR money if that is the law in your state. They cannot dick you around like that over and over.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

If the labor board gets involved and wants the e-mails, they can subpoena the mail server records.EeyoresButterfly wrote:I don't have the e-mails, the computer's default is to erase them once they have been read, so I have no documentation unless the send some new ones.

Re: Suspended from work- really upset
I cannot believe their audacity. I was left a voicemail at noon today telling me that at 3:00pm TOMORROW there is a mandatory food safety class. Nevermind that I have grad classes, nevermind that you put me on suspension for a week, you are giving me a one day heads up about a mandatory training? (Which I should have already had I'm sure).
I did not have a chance to turn in my resignation yesterday. I called the restaurant to see if the owners were there and nobody picked up. I am talking to my old manager today (he was off yesterday) about getting my job back, and then will talk to them and hopefully be done with that place.

Well, I did it. I talked to my manager at my old job and I will be starting there again hopefully on the next schedule. I also talked to the assistant manager who suspended me and gave her my two weeks notice. Since we are closed on the fourth, this means that I have worked my last shift there! I will admit that I took the coward's way out and simply said, 'My old job asked me back and they are not as hard on my knee since there are no stairs. After my surgery I will not be returning.' I hate confrontation and really didn't want to get into it. It was very polite, and as soon as I launder my apron I wll turn in my apron and shirt and be done!

I'm sorry about all this. I don't know what to say, just want to send *hugs*.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

At least you have a job to fall back on. Lots of folks don't have that advantage. Actually, it's better you didn't get confrontational, because that can come back to haunt you. Check out these sites i got off of Monster's forums: http://www.breakingranks.net/rankism ; www.jobhuntersbible.com/workingwounded--"How's this for unfair?" ; http://employeeissues.com ; http://www.complaints.com ; http://www.ripoffreport.com ; http://www.badbusinessbureau.com ; http://turtlesatwork.blogspot.com/ ; http://www.ahipubs.com ; http://www.workdoctor.com ; Google "workplace bullies"; http://www.bullybusters.org ; http://www.bullyinginstitue.org ; http://www.findlaw.com ; these sites run the gamet from places where you can find support, look up laws as they apply to your situation, or file complaints. You can also go to the forums, such as Vent! on Monster.com (free registration).
