I do want to mention how grateful I was to see so many people side on the ethical side.

Recently I've been observing what an American (or possibly just modern human, with an emphasis on American) idea it is that the rules apply to everyone but them. That somehow they deserve more that the other guy.
My parents are both college professors, and in the last few years have been getting grade appeals right and left, where it used to be so rare. If not official appeals, they get bombarded with emails telling them that whatever grade they got was not high enough.
My friend wants to complain to Apple because she bought a MacBook in March, and then six weeks later, Apple had a promotion for a free iPod with your MacBook, and she feels that she should have been told by the sales people to wait six weeks for the promotion to start.

My issue is basically that you have to stop and realize that you're no better than the person next to you. You don't deserve a FastPass more than him. If he's in line ahead of you, and he takes the last one, that's simply how it works. If you were ahead of him and they ran out, you don't think he should get one just because you did, right?

I think I got a little off topic there. My main point is that I think it's so rude to lie about things like that. What gives you the right to lie when you know what you're doing is wrong, and you know if someone else did it, you'd tell them it was wrong.
Also, on the topic of it just being a couple months... really, you simply can't do that in a place as big as Disney. Because then where's the real cut off. You let a kid who's 3 years, 3 months go... so what about this 3 year, 6 month kid right behind him? It's just like height requirements. You can't let someone who's "close enough" go, because then when do you start saying they're not close enough.

I think it's just something you have to be very strict on. And it sucks, because you're disappointing some guests, but once you start making exceptions, all hell breaks loose, and everyone wants a break, and people start trying guilt trip you and give you sob stories and they may or may not be true, but you have to just stay firm.

Alright, I'm off my soapbox for a bit. Sorry about that. It's just been on my mind quite a lot recently.

Last month, while mom was out of state and had left me money for groceries, etc., since I love watermelon and she can't stand it, I bought myself a mini watermelon. Of course it was a bit pricey at nearly $3, but I love watermelon that much. The week after I ate the darn thing, I look in the paper and see that had I waited another week, I could've gotten the same watermelon, at the same store, for $1.99! Am I going to sue Stater Bros. for not telling me to wait a week for cheaper watermelon? No! I just shrugged and said, "That'll teach me to read the fine print when reading the market ads." For a seedless (though I did notice a few seeds, but that happens sometimes) melon, that is actually a darn good price. Though I remember seeing watermelon going for as little as 6 cents a pound, back in my teens....though that price was when the melons were in peak season, in August. And that was for the regular, machine-gun-spitting seeds kind.

Is the only reason you did that to save money? Why did you feel that the rules Disney sets are not meant for you? If every person did that, don't you realize how over-burdened the bus systems would be? How crowded the food courts and the pool areas?

And while I do think it is wrong to say the child is 2 for room occupency reasons, the bigger wrong, if you will, is then not paying for a park pass. Or for meals. That is not just a few dollars we are talking about. If you can't afford to pay for all of your family members to go to Disney, then don't go. Stealing is not the answer.

I think it is too bad that Disney doesn't ask for birth certificates when you check in. They could even issue some sort of pass for the infants, stating that they are actually under the age of 3. That would keep people from having more people in the room than allowed too. Everyone would have some sort of pass, and you could only get one at check-in.

I agree! Cheating sucks! And except for the birth certificate part...well, they just are not gonna get mine...I am 35 and that is my story and I am sticking to it! ;)
It would be hard and really would not work to ask for birth certificates tho is not a bad idea and on the right track.....It would be a logistical nightmare. Think about all those who *forgot* to bring the tykes certificate. A nightmare, I tell you!

Does anyone want to know if I agree that cheating the system no matter how you do it, sucks? Okay! It sucks!

I dislike dishonesty that allows one to think that they SHOULD be able to do it, after all it is only a few months for the kid to be under 3 or any little cheat that gets you something you should not have unless you paid for it or it was included.

If everyone thought like that then there would be NO morals whatsoever and you would be...hobie.....!!!
