Official SGT ADD thread

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

I was good today and did not harrass anyone.

I would love to do the Kathy Bates hot tub scene but every guy I tried that with died of a heart attack. Note to self: get married first then hot tub.

Anyone up for a diet chocolate shake?

I'm bummed that the Dairy Queen in Lahaina shut down. I always went in for a pineapple milk shake after a hard day of teaching junior sailing.

Yesterday was hard. During derigging we had heavy surf and a strong southern current. We don't have onshore storage for the boats so they're anchored out. That means after they're derigged, the kids swim them out about twenty yards to mooring bouys.

I was the only adult in the water. We got all the boats derigged and I heard some yelling. I discovered two boats and four kids had been pulled about 100 yards south by the current and were heading for the breakwater. I swam out, got the inflatable going and took off after them. I caught up to the first boat, got two of the kids in the boat with me and the third one in the dingy, got the boat under tow and went after the second boat.

The kid with that one was dead tired. I managed to snag his boat and he was able to drag himself into the boat. I passed the painter to the kid in the first boat and tried to head out through the waves. It wasn't happening. The two horse motor wasn't going to tow all the boats and kids out through this mess.

I took a chance and headed back towards the breakwater. I was able to catch a wave and use it to accelerate my little fleet. That gave me enough speed to turn left, pick up more speed and finally head back out.

No one was hurt, the boats were fine, and the kids looked at it as a great adventure. We're going to have more adults in the water today.

They're all good kids. Living on the island they're use to being in the water. The problem here was trying to swim up stream while towing a small boat. I got the four aside I pulled in yesterday and told them they all did their best and I really appreciated it. I could tell it made them all feel good about themselves.

We had the same conditions today but, with four adults in the water and me in the inflatable, it all went well.
