Re: SGT Prevented....I Hope!
Well, sometimes the disability or illness isn't always that apparent. I saw a lot of GKTW families when I worked at Epcot on my previous 3 CPs, but of course I never did ask what the issue was with the child out of respect and courtesy to them and their families. It could be that this is their last family vacation of happiness because of how terminal the child's illness is and they want to have that fun before the inevitable happens.
For Narnia! And for Aslan!

Re: SGT Prevented....I Hope!
I was forever having families wanting to leave their sleeping kid in the stroller on the train. (Even had one SG put the stroller, with kid inside, on the platform and return to his seat.)
The all had the same explanation of why they should be exempted from the safety rules, "But my child is asleep!"
And I always replied, "No problem, we have a really loud whistle on the engine and we'll wake him up for you."
Never failed to get me a dirty look.

The perfect in-character comeback is an art! Bravo!Zazu wrote:I was forever having families wanting to leave their sleeping kid in the stroller on the train. (Even had one SG put the stroller, with kid inside, on the platform and return to his seat.)

Re: the morphine kid- Don't underestimate the SG ability to boldface lie about something to get what they want or take a shortcut. I have heard that someone was auctioning Make-a-Wish buttons on eBay. I'd like to know if that is true, because based on what I've seen it seems plausible.

I'm not sure about MAW buttons, but we have seen "Green Light" GACs advertised as "unlimited fast passes". I know they have been reported by multiple people (me included) to both eBay as out of policy and to one of my favorite e-mail addresses: [email protected] where you will always get an thanking e-mail which also says they will not keep you advised of any outcome.Moonliner wrote:I have heard that someone was auctioning Make-a-Wish buttons on eBay. Ludicrous, a post-hoc Darwin Award winner in the making.frankw123 wrote:My daughter was married this weekend. As well know Disney fans, the grooms brother and wife came to me for some advice about their upcoming WDW trip. They have an daughter who will be 8 months old at the time of their trip and they wanted to know if they could take the kid on rides like Splash or Space Mountain IF (get this) they bring her car seat and strap her in! Thier reasoning was that if the car seat was safe enough for a car, it should be fine for a WDW attraction. I thought the guy was kidding me but he was dead serious (poor choice of words on my part, sorry). Naturally I told him no way that was going to be allowed and that it was a dumb idea to begin with. I went on to explain ride sharing with him but I'm not sure he bought into the concept. Anyway, I'm fairly sure that I convienced him that he could do the car seat thing and really shouldn't want to.
I am hoping that I prevented a SGT but knowing that guy....who knows!
