What do you think???My family was sitting in Whitewater Snacks on Wed. night around 6:45. There were a couple of teen boys hanging around the patio area. All of a sudden they both climbed up on a table and went over the latice work fence, through the landscaping and into the park! It took us a minute to process what we saw...by then they were gone. I was shocked! It obvously was not the first time they had done this, I wonder how many people do this on a regular basis.
A manager had just walked past them and was inside the restaurant, but didn't see it happen.

I dont know where whitewater snacks is, I thought I knew DL pretty well. If I saw them do it I would have yelled at them and shouted for securety and pointed them out to any CM's around so they got busted.

I haven't been to Whitewater Snacks (inside the GCH) since 2001, but I don't believe the story.
1) I don't recall there being an outdoor seating area.
2) If there is an outdoor seating area, I don't recall there being a park boundary fence where there were guest-accessible areas immediately on both sides of the fence. Come to think of it, I don't think there's such an area anywhere at DL or DCA. In that specific area, I think there's a trench and some landscaping that they would have to go through on both sides first.
3) If there was such a fence, all the fences that surround the parks are designed so that they can't be scaled unless the person had equipment, which the story doesn't mention. And if the outdoor seating area does exist, Disney would have definitely taken that into account when designing the fence.
4) If they still could climb the fence, there would be enough people in that area of DCA (near GRR) and the GCH at this time of year who paid hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, to get into the park/hotel, and wouldn't have just let two teenagers get away with jumping the fence without telling someone. And I still don't think anyone would have done it in full view of a family having dinner.

at the south east end of the Grand Floridian is an indoor eatery. You get a tray and pick up sandwiches and various items like milk, coffee, chips. Food is not bad. On the south side of the eatery is panoramic windows with a view of the Redwood Forest area, i am tired so do not ask for directions.
anyhow, did i mention tired.
you can go out onto a patio area and there are tables to eat out side the eatery. This is right against the park and a person could climb that fence but the other side might be a bit dangerous as it is wooded.

They made an emergency exit that exits into DCA, both sides of the brige has something blocking it but can be moved... setting off an alarm of course most likely.mechurchlady wrote:INCOMING NEWS

I know you were tired, so was my correct interpretation that you meant the Grand Californian?mechurchlady wrote:at the south east end of the Grand Floridian is an indoor eatery. The Grand Floridian is at WDW in Flordia, nowhere near the MK or DCA!
The Grand Californian or GCH is at DLR in California and is next to DCA.
The snack shop there is called Whitewater. They do have good snacks!

No, I was pointing out that the Grand Flordian was not near enough to the Magic Kingdom (MK) in FLORIDA, OR the Disney California Adventure (DCA) In California for "fence jumpers." If I wanted to refer to Disneyland (DL) in California, or the Resort (DLR) I would have used those initials.kurtisnelson wrote:Now you are asking for it, calling DL MK and saying the grand floridian is not anywhere near MK.
