[INDENT]When you are supposedly very busy, but have no regard to how busy your recipients may be, guess what you do? You forward jokes.
When you have nothing to say, and want to prove it to everyone you know, you forward jokes.
When you have something to say, but don't know what, you must be an idiot, so you forward jokes.
Also to let you know that you are still remembered -- at least I haven't deleted you from my address book; you are still important -- but not important enough for a hand-typed personal note; you are still loved -- but not enough for me to check out whether the story I'm sending is true; you are still cared for -- but not enough for me to care whether your mailbox is flooded with forwards you've already seen a hundred times; guess what you get?
A forwarded joke.
So, next time if you get a joke, don't think that you've been sent just another forwarded joke, but that you're on the mailing list of some perhaps well-meaning dolt with poor communication skills, little understanding of real-world relationships, and possibly poor hygiene. Yay!

(Do I sound as if I have strong feelings on the subject??? :D :)
THAT is good!

I used to be guilty of forwarding all that crap to everyone on my mailing list that came from my uncle and other folks who send forwards all the time. I have stopped sending them along, with the exception of the really, really funny ones to specific people who would enjoy them, never the same one to all of them. They all have different senses of humor and I like to send what is relevant to each person. They like them from time to time and I don't send em all the time. Most of them that I get now, get deleted, gone, kaput!

I usually have a mailbox full from my uncle, but I would never hurt his feelings by telling him to quit sending them. He is a great guy and elderly and disabled and that is what he does, so I just tell him, that I think they are funny. He can be forgetful and send me the same ones over and over, but that's okay, I delete them and it does not hurt me any. And I save hurting his feelings.

I am just lucky that we still have him alive, to say "I love you!" to once in awhile. Cause I send emails to him saying that too. And we got to visit him in Florida this last trip. He has diabetes and is very, very overweight with bad hips. He has had hip surgery, and back surgery and he is not in the greatest health and elderly, so I give him leeway to send them to me.
Like I said, it does not hurt me to just delete them and I feel lucky to be getting emails of any kind from him...considering the alternative...I love my uncle! :)

After my rant, I must admit that I don't mind the occasional forward -- and I understand completely about your uncle, Sooz. But the ones who do little but forward endless drivel without any good reason -- those I squelch pretty quickly.

It's funny, but the frequent forwarders I've dealt with in the past are usually well-meaning, and I send a tactfully (for me, at least) worded request that they take us off their forwarding list, but assuring them that personal notes are always welcome. (Funny how few of them bother with personal notes -- it's like forwarding lets them off the hook from writing to people in real life.)

Speaking of Uncles. One of the complaints we would get from time to time was some AOL user was getting email from a guy named Uncle Otis. Uncle Otis used a machine that was just for email, not a full blown computer. Either he had the wrong email address, or the recipient was tired of hearing from Uncle Otis. I came up with a voice for Uncle Otis and would reach the emails to my team. We sure do miss him. Now if people would stop reporting their order confirmations from a large candy company in California that you can See in malls, airports and stand alone stores...

Ohhoho...that's some good chocolate!

Hey! I got one request for chocolate covered tater chips and we bought a box, so anyone wanting me to send some, please PM me and I will send a pkg. I will send more than one chip, remember nobody can eat just one...that would be cruel...hehehe

Let me know if you want some chocolate covered potato chips made by the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Ralphie got the evil eye when he saw the guy coming with the box to fill the bin and said "Don't bother, I want the whole box." Hewas not popular with a few other customers in line...Oh well, first inline, first dibs at the chips!!!! HeeHeeHee!

So we got a few lbs of the things. YUM! They are good and going fast, right down my piehole!!!!! :D: Naw, I have enuff to send, if anyone wants some. Whazzup is first on the list, I will be getting that box out soon, Whazzup. I can see it now, she will writing me back begging for more, she will be like a choc tater chip junkie... :D: they are that good!
